As far as I can tell these allegations started when she started when she started doing her show remotely from home because of covid.
She ditched her regular crew and hired outside contractors.
Now it's one disgruntled employee after another after disgruntled former employee after another.

Got a gripe against a superior / employer?
Go on twitter and play the victim card.
Generation victim will rally around you and take that sucker down.
You get double victim points if your complaint has a sexual nature to it.

I know someone who once worked for the Oxygen network. When it was bought by NBC she was one of the lucky ones who kept her employment albeit as an NBC employee. Her job had her in contact with celebrities and their assistants from time to time for various reasons. She had mentioned that she had not been impressed with Ellen's attitude then.

That was years ago, but this sudden drama over her alleged treatment of people who worked for her reminded me.

Things started going downhill for her when she was all buddy-buddy with W. Hard to keep up the appearance of being all happy and fluff while you're palling around with a war criminal.

Don't be fake.

If you're a biatch in real life, portray it in the show.

I guess "Ellen Degenerate" turned out to be a proper insult after all.

What's scary is all the celebrities tweeting "I Stand with Ellen", as if she had the power to primary them out of office.

Never understood the appeal of Ellen.  Didn't like her sitcom and never liked the show.

/Not really the target audience, though

I thought I read something about Kristen Bell getting a daytime talk show in the same vein as Ellen.

I'm torn... I'm not one for daytime talk shows, but I would watch Kristen Bell read the phone book.

Meh.  I remember seeing her on Carson way back, and I didn't find her sitcom that amusing.  She's worth $330 million, what the hell does she care?

2020-08-05 8:54:08 AM
All this drama aside about her, she LOOKS sad.
It's the shape of her eyes, combined with either the lighting or her naturally watery eyes that ALWAYS look like she's tearing up.
But she genuinely looks like she's crying and being FORCED to go out on stage.

Even on her game show where she humiliates people?  And she's laughing?
She STILL looks like she's crying.

Ellen is as dead-eyed not-caring as Oprah by the the end - no care; too much money; they literally classed out financially from the people that were there their audience, then said fark it.

2020-08-05 9:13:01 AM
I think once you brand your name for a talk show, you lose your rights to your name and it becomes like James Bond, anyone can take up the mantle.  Ellen still keeps using her name but she will not be THE Ellen Degeneres.  I guess what I am saying is that I want to see Timothy Dalton play a season as Ellen Degeneres.

Maybe people just figured out the show sucks.

Plus the stay at home moms that watch this trash now have a stay at home family, so that kind of eats up daytime tv time.

Hey! Remember when Christian Bale got accused of going off on that lighting or sound technician?
And there was a recording of him doing it?
There was actual evidence.

Same thing with some of Mel Gibson's vulgar rants. Evidence.

Not just disgruntled employees and disgruntled ex-employees saying "Ellen Mean!".
With no recordings, despite being in a studio surrounded with devices that are specifically designed  to record both audio and video..
Not to mention every person on site having an audio and video recording device in hand at all times just in case they can catch a Karen in action and become a twitter / instagram / tiktok hero.

But there isn't any audio or video.
Just a bunch of pouty lipped disgruntled employees and ex-employees going "Ellen Mean!".

Want a promotion or to get rid of a boss who doesn't appreciate your *Special* uniqueness or how your 62K twitter followers makes you executive material (nevermind the fact your constant tweeting keeps you from performing your duties), accuse them of something that riles the Generation Victim army.

So, you're criticizing people making complaints about sexual harassment by employers because, clearly they're all doing it for revenge in one breath and then critical famous people getting away with pedophilia because no one tries to stop it in another.

And then you probably wonder why people don't like to come forward and expose molestation  by famous celebrities.  It's because people like you say they're playing "the victim card" and "looking for revenge.".

You know, there are a lot of straight guys on here (I'm guessing) and commenting in this thread.  And someone will probably say "I found Ellen's handle" in response to my earlier posts.

But, as a young gay kid in the late 80's and early 90's living in Ohio, Ellen was the first gay person that I really knew.  She was before Will and Grace and before things really changed.

She came out and was extremely humble, yet matter of fact (Yep, I'm gay).  The public and media were the ones who made a circus of it.  She stayed strong through it and took the punches, meanwhile her career went to shiat.

This is the Ellen I know.  The one that kept me from killing myself through my teenage years.  So, I see your points of view, but she saved a lot of lives and that can't be erased by what is supposedly going on now.  That is where I'm coming from.

2020-08-05 3:45:24 PM
She'd gain my respect if she went on live TV and said "Yeah the allegations are true.  What're you gonna do about it, biatch?".

Screw the fake shiat.  Start a show where you talk trash to people you don't like and call it like it is.

I think she has done a lot of good in her life, and I know that she helped a lot of Gay people by being out there.

But,s seems to be problematic in other regards.  If she really was even half as awful as her staff said she was, she should step away from her show for a while and work on herself.

I suspect she has a lot of pent up anger and sadness at the hell she went through growing up and dealing with the fallout from her public coming out.  That doesn't excuse her behavior, but it might explain why she seems to be having issues on her show

No, the point you missed is I believe many people pile on just to remove an obstacle in their career path.
Some are obviously true. That doesn't mean all are but if there was only one, it might be dismissed. But if many come forward it is far less likely to be.

If you don't believe some people in all aspects of television don't sabotage others careers to advance their own. Or when they reach an apex don't start being less than kind to subordinates in order to make them do their jobs so they can maintain their position, you can't believe Ellen was mean to employees.

I question the timing on the heels of putting her regular crew on hiatus or laying them off and going with a contracted crew for her from home shows as being sour grapes with a lot of piling on.

Do I think Ellen a hoot to be around for crew and assistants at work, no.
Do I believe she is responsible for subordinates treating their subordinates not nicely, maybe.
Depends on the hierarchical structure of the production. One person can not do that.
I imagine she works closely with the writers and upper production staff.
Is she responsible for everyone's happiness and contentment on set. No.
There aren't enough hours in a day for her to do that and perform her duties.

If the show shuts down a lot of people are going to lose their jobs. This won't affect Ellen much.

But even if they bring in James Corden (rumor) and restructure the show, they're going to get rid of most everyone to remove any taint of the previous show. There would be old frictions and grudges that it would be best to start clean. The same as when one business purchases another, all but a few higher ups are let go and the new owners restructure and bring in their own people and some new hires.

So I deny your attempt to refocus my meaning and the tract of the original conversation.

And these days, victims are heroes and garner great attention on social media.
With an army just looking for the next thing to be outraged over and person to take down.

Again, not one recording of audio or video of her acting out despite being on location in a television studio devoted to making audio and video by a large production staff whose skill sets are dedicated to that. With every one of them holding a device that is essentially  an easy to use audio / video production device.

I have experience dealing with 'interns' and pages from a few tv shows, years ago. They'd be in terror of failing at their task, even if the task was not something that could happen (needing a few hundred copies of a book that no store carries more than 10 of, at 10pm, for the next morning, for example). And while, some were less brutalized than others, they all had demanding taskmasters/(mistresses). I think most shows are run by bad people. But, some of the accusations (sexual cooersion) by some of the EP level people just isn't going to fly any more. Colbert had to just get rid of his music booker, but 50 stories about him aren't coming out. It was always an open secret Conan and Letterman, for example, were very demanding and prone to tantrums. Ferguson seemed to just seethe inward, not at staff.  I can't imagine Corden or Fallon being any different, if you scratch the surface. Kelly Ripa, Rachael Ray, Dr Phil, Dr Oz... I'm sure there are stories, too many to ignore, if we listen.

r0rw: I have experience dealing with 'interns' and pages from a few tv shows, years ago. Only times I thought Ferguson might be upset was when he wasn't offered Letterman's old job.
Which to me was a colossal error on CBS's part.

When Craig left late night I quit watching those shows.
Did peek in on Conan a few times, but that was pretty long ago now.
