Giuliani also recommended that Trump allies begin arguing that Biden is mentally ill. "I have a good friend who has early stage Alzheimer's and they could be twins," he said. When a POLITICO reporter pointed out that some people have argued that Trump is mentally ill, Giuliani rebuffed the idea. "Nobody thinks Trump has a mental issue," he said. "They attack him for his personality and his emotions."

That state by Giuliani, especially that last part, has so many layers of Irony to it, that they could serve it on Smith Island

"Nobody thinks Trump has a mental issue," he said. "They attack him for his personality and his emotions."

Plenty of people think Trump has mental issues, narcissism to start with plus I'm not entire sure he can read above an elementary school level which at his age indicates either cognitive decline or a pretty low overall IQ. He also has clear difficulty accomplishing simple physical acts like walking up a wet ramp or drinking a cup of water which can indicate a large number of potential significant medical issues.

"Trump's bag of tricks comes up empty against Biden"

Yeah, that tends to happen when all you have to offer the people for a second term is 'a bag of tricks'.

While he's clearly in decline, let's not forget that he has always been stupid, vain, and evil

The GOP had 25+ years of crap they've been throwing against Hillary.  Biden has been pretty successful and the best they have is "well if he's so smart why didn't he fix anything?" which seems stupid to anyone who knows how government works.

WHY DIDN'T THE VICE PRESIDENT FIX EVERYTHING?

LOL.  I hope Biden pulls the "duck season/rabbit season" switcheroo on Trump during the debates.  Trump would easily fall for it.

We have, we can only pray, reached the inevitable stage of every trump "success": where everyone involved-except for him-realizes the whole investment, business, charity, football team, real estate deal, and now US presidential administration, was always a half-assed scam and a fraud. The legal and financial alarm bells start ringing, anyone who can runs as far away as possible, as fast as possible. Bankruptcies are filed for, NDAs are exchanged for settlements, careers and personal lives erupt in flames, investigative journalists detail the entire scheme from beginning to end yet law enforcement inexplicably can find no evidence of wrongdoing. donnie farks off to one of his shiatty "resorts" to hold court with his constellation of lesser grifters and drive golf carts onto the greens, and in a few months it's as if the whole thing was just a Hunter S. Thompson acid trip.

The Great Zucchini is known as a genius when it comes to connecting with and entertaining small children. But he has a very narrow range of people to whom his tricks appeal: kids 3 to 7. He knows what it's like when a trick he's been performing no longer works. Recently a parent insisted that The Great Zucchini come perform for his 8-year-old, who had the magician at every birthday party for the last five years.

None of the tricks worked anymore. "I was struggling to get a laugh," said the magician, whose real name is Eric Knaus. "I bombed. It was crickets. These kids had outgrown the show."

The media needs to stop bothering with Giuliani and Gingrich, and quote this guy more.  He's a hell of a lot more insightful and astute.

There's only one trick that matters: Trump's name is the only candidate for president with an (R) after it

(shrug) I mean ... the racism is open, not that it wasn't in 2016, but (wanking motion) and sexism won't work this time because President Useless Asshole really shines (heave) when he's shiatting out insults about women he considers too old or ugly for him to want to fark. That really resonates with his base of "real men" and wannabe pickup artists and women who have no self-respect whatsoever.

So ... yeah, his "bag of tricks," which was never that impressive anyway, has ... nothing left in it. It's all used up.

I don't think Trump has a mental illness.  I know Trump has many mental illnesses.  Narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder and fairly severe dementia from some combination of old age, Alzheimer's and syphilis probably take the podium positions, but many more are in the running, like some form of learning disability (I've heard good arguments for dyslexia).

On the other hand, has Trump ever displayed an emotion that isn't one of the 7 deadly sins?

Well, duh, he has his record to run on now and any braindead moron that thought there was even a thin veneer of reality to his role on The Apprentice and pulled the lever because "what's the worst that can happen?" now has a resounding and complete answer to that dumb question.

Dude, there won't be any knots, just a steady stream of "she only got into flight school because of her gender" followed by "she got shot down because women shouldn't be in the military."

But I would absolutely pay money to watch her smash Pence into fine, white, racist powder.

It's a shame that both candidates are so old that this is a significant factor.

Now, to start with I don't think Joe is experiencing cognitive decline. While his speaking style is less precise and eloquent than, say, President Obama, he's more coherent and cogent than W was. I disagree with him a lot on policy, but I don't doubt he still has his full allotment of marbles.

But the thing is, even if it were true, even if Biden were suffering from some sort of cognitive decline, he'd be declining after a lifetime of engagement and learning - a life of intellectual curiosity and participation in the world. So even if he's declining, he's still smarter, more educated, and more capable than Trump. Not to mention able to think in complete sentences.

If Biden is declining and Trump is in perfect health, that just makes Trump look even worse by comparison.

Pfft! Hold my beer, they will say. You don't what to see what they said about Vindeman or any other vet. They love the vets until that vet is not "one of them." Then it is no holds barred attacks. Her having served will play not part in this for them.

And that's not even the woman angle. Most of them don't believe a woman should be in the govt and all the problems started when women got the vote.

So no. They are sharpening their arrows for everyone as we speak.
