I'm not even a parent at all and that hit me in the feels.

Yep.

Parenting is super hard.  And super awesome.

I like to describe it as pregnancy was my wife amplified.  Her highs were higher, her lows were lower, her transitions faster.  On the whole it was a net average gain, but man was it variable.

I then like to describe it as parenthood is my life amplified.  Our highs are higher, our lowers are lower, our transitions faster.  On the whole it is definitely a net average gain, but man is it variable.

Your kids will drag things out of you that you didn't know were there, good and bad.  Dude's right, you should soul search and talk to people about your past before, and during parenthood.

Grats and welcome to the ride!

As hard as it is to find in the quarantine land, try to find other parents with kids +/- a year or so from yours and share your experiences.  Nothing helps a new parent's anxiety more than looking at a swarm of similar aged kids interacting and saying "oh, hey, my kid is normal.  phew!"  or "Oh, hey, my kid is doing something weird that their peers don't, I should talk to my ped about it."

As an old dad, it does the same to me.

The talk about generations reminded me of this cover of Papa Was A Rolling Stone.

They added a new group of lyrics inside the old ones. It takes the viewpoint of the kid that grew up without Papa.

F*cking perfect. Dude's got a point, you know. Am also not a parent (never wanted to be) but it's not like I don't get it.

THIS should be shown at the beginning of every sex education class in America.

that was beautiful.  it's such a messed up time right now, and here is this really young man talking about mindfulness and putting in the work to build a strong family- it's so hopeful.  thanks to the submitter!  this guy and his vlog should get as much exposure as possible.
