(JoBlo)   Nicolas Cage almost played Will Ferrell's role in Wedding Crashers. When Mr Ferrell was reached for comment, the "Elf" star said, "I want to be Debbie"   (joblo.com) divider line
More: Interesting, Will Ferrell, Nicolas Cage, hard time, memorable role of Chazz, American film actors, pretty signature moment of movie comedy, STEP BROTHERS, director David Dobkin

Nic Cage also almost played Superman.  Thankfully that didn't happen either.

Nic Cage almost played with himself, but those roles went to Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger.

Says you. I still want a Nic Cage Superman movie. Then again, I enjoy terrible movies.

I haven't seen it in awhile (though one of the cable channels has been running it of late) but for the life of me, I cannot remember Will Farrell in it.

Farrell used to annoy the bejeesus out of me when he first became a thing but strangely, I've warmed to him over the years.

I don't get the headline. Debbie who?

That movie hasn't aged well, at all.

"...Ferrell has made that scene a pretty signature moment of movie comedy over the last 15 years..."

It was a funny scene, but (as with almost everything these days) let's all just calm down.

Perhaps the headline is a reference to this?

The best part is the awards that keep appearing on the shelf.

Wedding Crashers?  I enjoy it.  Vince Vaughn riffing, Isla Fisher as the funny kind of slut, Rachel McAdams improves ANYTHING she is in, Chris Walken, Bradley Cooper as a douchebag, Ferrell as the Crasher Guru...what's not to like?

Ohhhh. ::Gru voice:: Lightbulb!

Thank you, random fellow Farker. You save me digging the DVD out of the storage bin.

I think he would have been AWESOME at that. LOL, Ferrell was also great.

It doesn't hurt to have more than one person who can knock a comedy role out of the park.

I went in to "Frat Pack" overload after a while

Old School (loved it), Starsky & Hutch, Wedding Crashers, The Internship..... off the top of my head...

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson....

Individually I enjoy them here and there but there was definitely a breaking point after a while.

Ah! That's it.

It's been so long since I've seen that Chick tract, I completely forgot that reference.

I've never seen Wedding Crashers. Its one of those flicks that everyone hyped, which turned me off from seeing it.    Never even saw Blues Brothers until this past weekend.

"Other people think something's funny.  That DEFINITELY means I'm not going to see it.  Who wants that "funny" shiat anyway?"

/But I know what you're saying.  Never seen Titanic or Game of Thrones for similar reasons.

I just finished 'Color Out of Space' & Nic Cage went full 'Nic Cage' in it.
Scenery was chewed, NIc went ape-sh*t whilst covered in blood - all the standard tropes we expect from the Nicster.
The man is a master of his craft.

That's because you're just so damn edgy and cool. None of that mainstream stuff for you.
