Edge doesn't stop Facebook from being able to spy on what you're doing in your other tabs.

Firefox does.

It can do the same for Google and all the other companies who have surveillance capitalism as their business model.

When the witch Dr video came out last week one of my friends on Facebook was complaining because it kept getting taken down. They said the best way to get information was to turn the fact checking in FB off. I told them that they're still not getting all the info and that they need to disable the windows fire wall, anti virus and also make sure the firewall on their router was disabled. I figure if they're going all in, their might as well do it without any protection.

/windows gives me a warm feeling, late at night in the winter when the furnace kicks on because I made money helping people who "know better"

Ill take to my grave the lie that Linux is hard to use.

How is point and click hard?

And some distros like Linux Mint even have simple how to guides on how to dual boot Linux and windows.

Sorry but its difficult for me to feel empathy for folks who dont want to read or try new things.
They do what the TV tells them to do.

Edge is the browser that pops up when you accidentally click the wrong spot on the Windows 10 login screen before entering your password, right?

I mean why else would Microsoft put links to random topics on a login screen?

I dropped Firefox for Opera when I noticed some slowdowns a couple months ago. I wish I had tried it earlier, it is fast as all hell. I'll pass on my computer getting infected by anything, and continue to live in the Arch family.

They know how easily led the sheeple are.

No one here cares about your FOSS cult. Has anyone on Fark ever responded favorably to one of your posts? We get it, you dislike anything that isn't open source. That's great. The rest of us here don't give a rat's ass. Take your nonsense to Slashdot.

You should probably say "some of us" instead of "the rest of us". Windows is straight garbage. I can actually get work done using Gnome, instead of constantly swearing and fighting against what Windows thinks I want to do.

I never said it would be easy
I only said it would be the truth.

If u dont mind being snooped on and having someone else tell u how to use your computer then stick with closed source software.

Its a free country for the most part.

I like being able to actually do things with my systems.

Likewise

I do the same and much faster.

Close to 100% of the supercomputers around the world use Linux for a reason.

Btw the ISS switched their laptops to Linux from windows for virus reasons, among others.

I've been using Brave for a while with good results. It's basically Chromium with the skeevy bits pulled out.
