It is an Unidentified Flying Object

I base this on:
1. I don't know what it is
2. It appears to be flying

I dont believe its hovering over the moon. Its probably hovering over the earth. Perhaps its a space station or a big-ass satellite.

It's either something very big, very far away, going very fast, or something small, close, and at a normal speed. Therefore, the obvious conclusion is that it must be aliens. Peeplz so smart.

I got a theory that there's a cycle between aliens and zombies in the cultural zeitgeist. You can tell when the switch is happening by looking at the Halloween decorations that get sold at Spirit every year.

Right? "Bird" should be first, followed by "plane," and then "Superman."

That size would be a regular-ass satellite, I've got a telescope and have seen satellites transit the moon and sun.. never gotten any pics though, so this is still pretty cool, but... not alien.. probably.
Also the ISS is much bigger looking that that, with all the solar arrays..

Sadly no. My brain can't remember what I did last week but immediately supplied lyrics to a Dave Matthews Band song, A song and a band that I don't like. Thanks for prioritizing, brain!

um...if it was anywhere near the moon it would have lost the illumination of the sun somewhere near the moon's terminus.

If it's close to the earth it could remain illuminated by the sun for longer.  Considering this is a night shot, it would have to be a pretty high orbit to not intersect Eath's shadow.

If it's crawling across the lens of this guy's telescope it will appear fuzzy and illuminated for the whole video.

Fuzzy white dot seen crossing the image and face of the Moon.

Years of experience in the reading of pixels suggest that the fuzzy white dot in question is moving, hence its proto-linear, semi-rectangular shape.

Second, that the most likely explanation is a speck of debris or detritus crossing between the camera and the Moon. It could be a bird, a plane, a plastic bag, Superman, or more commonly a meteor or asteroid. Size depends on relative distance between the object and the lens, as well as the distance between the object and the Moon.

Nothing could be more common than an asteroid or a cometary body, a meteor of no particular importance.

Otherwise the object, if in the atmosphere of the Earth, is more trivial and mundane than a body between the orbit of the Moon and the atmosphere of the Earth.
The
So, like most mysteries promulgated by The Star, The Sun, The Daily Planet, and similar non-scientifici publications, who knows what the fark it is and who the fark cares.

My thesis:  fuzzy dots prove nothing.

Journalists must produce a lot of filler (once nicknamed "fark" by a scholar of note) when there is no real news.

The correct response for the reader is the same as for Fark.com. Have a little fun with it momentarily and then forget it until the next one.

Dans cela, il n'y a rien à redire.

This post may be re-used in all future occasions involving the Moon, a film or camera, and a fuzzy white dot of less than proto-planetary size.

Why do alien spaceships have lights? If they can travel at light speed, surely the lights wouldnt be able to catch up and illuminate the space ahead making them pointless. It's nice to know alien mechanics are ripping off their customers as well.

Yeah. The ISS has a distinctive shape, it's not the ISS. I see regular satellites every time I look at the stars at night without a telescope, and that's exactly what they look like - a light speck moving quickly in a straight line (but much slower than a meteorite). Do people not look at the stars anymore?
