Forget about it. The child learns from the parents, if the kid is a dickhead then they are too. And probably you as well.

It's odd how one of the kids I spent a lot of time around (parents were friends) totally grew out of being a prick as an adult (instead he became a Republican. ....). Another one is the same demeaning, hypocritical piece of shiat he was as a kid. I assume he still talks to/about his parents the way he used to. It's how he talks about his wife.

And then my cousin went from a jerk to an abusive psychopath who joined a gang. But, then again, his dad was like Bob Ross one moment, then Adrian Beathisson the next.

Since you're having people over you're likely a couple of covidiots. In which case good news, dumb social problems are going to become much less of an issue very soon.

Yeah, came to mention this.  Don't see them at all, the adults can FaceTime or Skype without the kids.  Their kid may well have grown out of the behavior by the time this shiatshow ends

I don't understand. You just described the textbook definition for two "piece of shiat" people but somehow don't hold them equal.

Boy, the first draft of that song needed some work.

If you're not close enough with your friends to say "Look, I love having you over but your kid's kind of a brat.  What do you want do do about this?" then you're not really friends.

Every time they come over watch a movie like "The Bad Seed" or "We Need to Talk About Kevin" and see if they get the hint.

I smell bullshiat.  They describe the couple as lovely and then as objectively garbage parents in the same paragraph.  Their own child appears to enjoy the company of the child in question.  In my own experience this is code for "We love this couple, but for some reason they aren't instilling our exact ideology into their child and we are terrified that he may influence our own child to question us."

"Friends, please leave your dickhead child at home when we invite you over to hang out."

You have to weigh the value of time with your friends against the value of avoiding time with their child. If you tell them their kid sucks, you're unlikely to enjoy time with them in the future. Some friends of mine have married horrid people. I think fondly of those friends and wish them well, but we don't hang out anymore.

When they once again show up with him, tell them they can tie him up in the back yard.

Walker around naked across the street from an elementary school just once and legally they will have to leave the kid at home when visiting.

Leave out some guns. Loaded. With a round in the chamber. Glocks are perfect for this.
