I was impressed to see the use of Ironic in the tag to her link.

Yeah, this made me smile a great deal. Nice to see stuff like this, especially now.

She still sounds great, too.

Every time Alanis sings an angel's head goes kaboomb.

Modmins, should double-post this to the "D'awww" Tab.

Watched Radio Free Albemuth not too long ago. She sings and it's just exactly what you think it is. The movie isn't great, but it is essentially a Phillip K Dick autobiography.

She's really quite good, is my point.

That was quite enjoyable, she's still got it.

I was pleasantly surprised by the movie, how well it turned out given the book it was based on.

I'm also a huge fan of VALIS, which is almost the same book. Or based on the same experience.

I sometimes feel like I'm living inside a PKD novel.

That was both beautiful and adorable, without being saccharine. Consider also that lucky kid will have the memory of that moment forever, absolute proof of how much her mom loved her and her siblings. We should all be so fortunate to be able to preserve a moment in time with our parents at their best.

Kind of teared up when she began singing directly to her daughter. Awfully dusty in here.

Most music artists don't completely reinvent themselves, they stick to what works for them. So yeah, she has her own way of singing and expressing. On the other hand her material has certainly grown a lot since she began.

I was fully expecting to go full snark while watching this but that was actually pretty good.  Alanis' voice is better than ever and that was pretty cute too.

No, and I have yet to see the tv series.

Radio Free Albemuth was a pretty good film adaptation of a PKD book, one which we could be living in right now.

Clans of the Alphane Moons reminds me of our differing political clans and their incongruent world views.

Exegesis is another of his books I find myself inside.

This is one of the few plus sides of the whole lockdown thing... These free-form live performances where people aren't overly focused on everything being perfect. We're getting to see moments like this when normally they would be very polished and perfectly produced. These are 'human' moments that are probably going to disappear once we all start mingling again, but we'll always have them as one of the few shining lights in this shiatty year.

I wasn't a big Alanis fan back in the mid-90s, but in hindsight, she is awesome!
