I think I've seen this ad. Doesn't another truck pull up alongside the first one and the guy does the splits between them?

Ummm, there's a guy a fingernail away from death or at least certain mangling. Call the cops. This shouldn't be entertainment. Yes call the cops.

At least call the "How's my driving?" number.

It looks like from the linked video there are three people in the car. I don't care what the driver says, call 911. What the everlovingfark is wrong with people?
It's not just the dude hanging onto the hood, it's the goddamn truck driver! He is weaving all over the road and that's freight of you-don't-know-what stacked you-don't-know-how. And they're driving right along side the guy?!If that driver swerves just so and then those trailers let loose ..... Potentially you're taking about someone innocent being truly injured, perhaps killed.
Truck driver already fired so there is that.

Someone's in mortal danger alright but I'm pretty sure it's the trucker.

I don't think that's legal. CDL license require you to operate the rig safely. And that doesn't seem safe. The swinging back and forth part.

Guy that filmed it is a total d-bag. First claimed no one called the police until after he filmed it, and then changed his story when someone brought up that he might get charged for aiding and abetting.

When you check the damn Amazon tracking and you see that the parcel is in town but not out for delivery you just want to track down the truck and get your shiat.

Most likely.  The guy on the hood is probably on bath salts and will hurt the driver if the truck stops.

No. You couldn't be more wrong. The trucker is literally the safest person in all of this. Most in danger? The door on his hood that the trucker is actively attempting to murder.

So, uh, that's at bare minimum the driver has reckless endangerment on his record, right? Repeatedly slamming on the brakes and trying to dislodge the dumbass from his hood on the freaking interstate isn't exactly great for one's health if thrown...

I used to pull Doubles. It's fun.
Sometimes you wiggle the rear trailer to get tailgaters to back off.
As long as you are moving forward, things are going to be alright.

This could've gone from a funny video to a nightmarish snuff video in a split second.
Guy could have gone under or flipped to the side and gotten hit but a passing car.

My mom's friend was behind a car that flipped. She had barely stopped behind them when someone crawled out of the flipped car, only to be hit badly by a passing car.

The thing is, the crazy dude randomly leapt onto the hood of that Truck and apparently started slamming his fist into the windscreen. Now how do you balance that against what looked like attempted murder in trying to throw the guy from the truck while it was moving and likely to run him over if the fall alone didn't crack his skull?

I figure the Truck driver should have pulled over but what does he expect this idiot to do then? Even sitting here far away without somebody pounding on my truck I'm not sure what he was supposed to do. I hope he pulls over but that is slightly more risking to him.

Right. The truck driver keeps swerving right and left, obviously trying to throw the person off the hood. At highway speeds, that would probably mean death. Attempted murder is happening right in front of you. Use your phone to call for help.

I've had loads where I'm told "never stop for anything. If someone hits you or you hit someone, call this number and keep driving, we will arrange a place for you to safely meet highway troopers." It's pharmaceutical loads or cellphones or something like that, cargo thieves will pull all sorts of crazy stunts sometimes to get you to stop.

I do remember when I started driving for Central Refrigerated their safety manager (a retired state trooper) told us that company policy was not to swerve to miss running over animals. You might have someone in your blind spot and by swerving you just wiped out a minivan with a family of four, and possibly jackknifed your rig across the road as the minivan under the trailer drags unpredictably on it, causing a much bigger pileup.

He paused, looked at us in turn. "Now, what do you do if it's a human being? Do you swerve or not? That is up to you, I'm not going to judge your decision or your reaction. But drive long enough and you may face that choice."

I don't know what was going through that driver's mind. Some crazy guy jumped on his hood in a high-theft area. Not sure what the union rules are on that but I know that ABF takes safety seriously. I used to drive for Panther, the expedite company they bought a few years back. I also know that Florida is a high cargo theft state. I also know that ABF has their own driving school so some of their drivers are not very experienced like you expect pulling doubles.

Really, I would have called 911 as the driver but otherwise kept going. It sounds like a set-up. Swerving to dislodge the guy is a bit much, you are endangering everyone else with the crack-the-whip effect of doubles. But I'm not the guy with the rando pounding on my windshield.

I work in Traffic Control. A fun thing I do with udiot truckers that fail to follow the law: in the fast lane? Turning left/right when its not allowed? Ignoring other warning signage I have put up?

Pull your phone out and pretend to record them, or actually if its bad enough. You get immediate reactions as these idiots know they can't fark around.

Try it out sometime. Go out of your way to make sure they see you.
