Mad Scientist: Since when has Trump ever read a book?

I would be legitimately surprised if he's even read an entire pamphlet.

kbronsito: He wants us to order Time Life's Mysteries of the Unknown. To learn about demon semen, the reptilian deep state, alien DNA in our vaccines and pyramid silos, you gotta read the book

Dammit, I really thought I was going to be the first to take this angle.

NAMBLA monthly newsletter maybe?

HBO should be giving the interview for free to all networks so they can run it 24/7.

People need to see Trump destroyed since the goddamn weakass spineless gutless cowardly journalists in the US never did it ONCE in the last 4 years.

cameroncrazy1984: shastacola: This is the Jonathan Swan interview that's going to air on HBO on Monday. By all accounts it's an absolute disaster for Trump.

Even worse than the Wallace?

I mean, if it's anything like the clip, I believe it

The best part of that Wallace interview was Wallace telling Trump the results of the latest Fox poll.  You could tell how much Wallace was enjoying the reveal.  It was basically a polite version of "Hey, we got a brand new poll.  Do you want to know the results?  Well, do you?  You'll be the first to hear it.  Ha ha, you're losing, you dumb fark."

When does Barr order HBO to shut down? I'm guessing Monday, around 11:30am ET.

Can he shut down AT&T that owns HBO?  Then we get a tewfer

/AT&T:  Boo hoo, people are cutting the cord and leaving.  We better raise rates

This is a preview of the "debates". Expect a LOT of Trump talking over and interrupting Biden with ineffective moderation except for talking down Biden when Trump is answering questions.

Then the MSM will act like Trump is so in control, and Biden didn't have a response to anything.

wejash: His campaign team consists of morons who think he's a genius. Or a few amoral grifters in it to siphon some of the spice before the God Emperor eats it all.

I have the physical appearance that one would normally associate with a Trumpet. Overweight white male, raggedy beard, veteran, middle aged, usually wear a tshirt, jeans and a baseball hat.

It's really tempting to join his local campaign staff and pay myself for services rendered, grifting cash from the campaign and sending in fake receipts.

Deja vu? Frost vs. Nixon all over again? Don't (R) politicians know that foreign correspondents don't care and don't PRETEND to care about the BS they spill?? WHY in the world would he agree to do an interview with a reporter from a functional democracy that plain old DOES NOT care himself or about what his corporate media masters think about making "Dear Leader" look bad?

buckwebb: I think he believes that the only way to win is to get out there and talk.  He can't do his rallies, so he needs outlet to talk to the MAGA.  I can't believe his campaign team thinks any of this was a good idea.

But he wants to do it so they have to let him.

Of course that's what he believes.  Think about Donnie's real estate bidness.  It's him, selling the wonderful, tremendous, lucrative idea of this piece of real estate to a bunch of ultra-rich investors, far richer than Donnie.  It's Donnie blowing smoke up asses and making promises he can't keep and improvising as much bullshiat as it takes to get the rich folks (whom Donnie envies) to write some checks.  He thinks he's very successful at real estate, and he thinks it's purely because of his winning and selling personality.  That's why he's always talking about the quality of his relationships, with dictators or corporations or political enemies.  To him, the sum and summary of business (management in general) is personality and relationships, and he believes he's the best.

So of course he thinks he can only increase his voters if he speaks directly to them.  He has no ability to imagine that he might talk himself out of millions of voters if he continues to speak what's on his diseased mind.

Metastatic Capricorn: Most of all, he knows his stuff and can follow up... something sadly lacking in reporters these days.

This is something that drives me nuts about so many current journalists and interviewers. Being prepared for follow-ups is a fundamental part of the process. If you can't follow up, you're not doing your job well.

And with Trump it should be EASY, since his responses and non-responses are very predictable. You know how he is going to respond to most challenges, so you should have your follow-ups already in mind going into it. Calling his bullshiat is not difficult, but too few do it.

Sure, he's going to try and bully you for it. So what? Let him melt down. His flock will love it, yeah, but that needn't be your concern. The job is to press for truth.

That farking POS. Every business jackass I dealt with while being dragged around by my real-estate conman grandfather for reasons that in hindsight were sickening would reference Norman Vincent Peale. Pseudo-fascism meets business-jargon meets spiritualism and Christianity is basically Norman Vincent Peale. The guy was one civil war away from recreating the Teiping Heavenly Kingdom as every white 1970s business guy was a big fan. Don Don likely read his book and yes Don Don can and does read -- he just reads garbage like this.

Yeah well all politicians are the same and we don't know if it would get better with Biden so I dont really follow politics I just wish people would just stop all the arguing and just do the right thing and voting's not going to change anything anyway it's all just rich people out to screw you so let's just talk in mind-numbing detail about sportsball stats.

On the one hand, you have us liberals who will watch this and be like "Farking how? How can anyone support this? How can anyone think this guy is smart or good at anything?"

Then on the other hand, you'll have conservatives who will watch this and be like "Squirm, libbies, squirm!"

They dont care or even think hes smart or good at anything. The only thing they care about is stigginit. This will in no way dissuade them from that now-prime directive. So long as they can make you tear your hair out, theyre winning as far as theyre concerned. And they will just as soon burn it all down than let a liberal gain an inch.
