Did they outlaw turtlenecks?

That thing has a cargo capacity of around 1200 pounds with full fuel and tropical air.  500 kilos is probably do-able, unless of course someone brought a durian on board.  Durians are a real menace to proper aircraft operation.

I saw an Aussie in a turtleneck once.  I think they killed him.

Look baka-san, I didn't invent the turtleneck; but I was the first to recognize it's potential as a tactical garment.

Is this the Aussie version of "American Made"? Did Barry fake his death and go into hiding down under but couldn't stop flying?

Durian is a menace to everything.

What they don't properly teach you in pilot school is when you do weight and balance calculations and you are hauling a half a ton of coke, if you use some then your reflexes will be faster so you can skimp on weight the calculations.

So the pilot and remaining cargo need to be about 45 kilos to stay at or under capacity.

When I was a kid my father had a Cessna 182. When we would go on a trip with him. Everything that went on board got weighed and if we were getting close to capacity luggage got left behind. Especially if the weather was warm. We lived in a town at ~5600 feet elevation and often were taking a summer trip to Crested Butte. The little airport there was at around 9000 feet. Taking off there if the temp was up,it was really important to keep the aircraft well under its capacity. In the tropics temp and humidity can really have an effect on the lift capacity. You shouldn't fark around with that.

Uncle had a skywagon 185, if you wanted on the plane you had to empty your bowels, strip naked and cut your hair first. Swear he would weigh the air in the cabin before starting the engine.
He liked doing aerobatics to make the kids throw up, once broke the tv antenna off my grandmother's house he buzzed it so low.
Man I loved that guy. RIP uncle Mel.
Oh yeah, he loved cocaine too.

From the photo, it's a cessna 402

Aircraft Empty Weight = 4077

Max takeoff = 6850 lbs

Thus useful load = 2773 lbs

500 kilos is approx 1100 lbs. Lets add another 25 lbs for packaging.

Full fuel is 206 gal = approx 1256 lbs.

2773 - 2381 = 392 lbs left over.

So even with full fuel and a couple of chubby pilots, should have been within the airplane's capabilities.

390 divided by two equals skiiny ass pilots.

Well, it's the 500 kilos that didn't make it into the report that put them over.

Yes, the Chief was quoted as saying that all 250 kilos were checked into evidence, and that the whole 150 kilos of it would be on display at the time of trial, if need be.  After justice has been served, the entire 100 kilo lot will be destroyed by fire.
