It's very thoughtless of some women to get older, yes. If I were an attractive 25-year-old actress, I would simply retain the exact same body and face for the next thirty years out of courtesy to all the men who might wish to look at recent pictures of me and experience erections. Shameful that some cannot rise to this basic level of consideration for others.

Sort of a damned if you do/don't thing. If you don't get work done as a woman in show business, you're out of a job by 35 and people comment on how old and frumpy you look.

If you do get work done, you can extend your viability a bit longer and hang around the industry, until even the best clinics can't put off time any longer and then people comment on how old and unnatural you look.

For some reason I thought she was playing Dr. Smith in the Netflix reboot of Lost In Space. But it's not her. It's Parker Posey. I guess I don't remember what Courtney Cox looked like.

the only problem with this is the sadly true phrase "scream franchise".

sure "scream" was a reasonably good and VERY fun horror popcorn flick which also smartly called out TONS of horror cliches/tropes -all without being SO obvious as to make the actual plot of the film cheesy beyond the point of real fun.

even including the trailer-tease that drew barrymore might be the "final girl" when she was first to die (oops! 24-year-old-spoiler)! in short, it was fun AND kinda brilliant.

making it into just another "franchise" killed all that smart sass and implied commentary. yeah, all ANY actor will signal by returning to this "franchise" is that their own career is as dead as the deliberate irony of "scream: 1".

boo on all the people making this film.

Really? There's tons of work for character actresses who don't jack-up their mugs every on literally hundreds of shows, like every day of the week.

Getting old trend? News flash, we all get old. Most of us just aren't under the same merciless scrutiny that most Hollywood women actors are.

Plastic surgery on one's face is rarely a good idea. At best, you look frozen, at worst, you look like one of those saran-wrapped cat people like Paul Simon or Christa Miller. Better to age normally, eat a balanced diet, and exercise. Mid-50s isn't that old anymore.

Disagree. Scream 2 and 3 were the same meta-thing, but for sequels/trilogies/franchises. Scream 4, which I only saw once, was the same thing for reboots (...right?).

They're increasingly silly, but what franchise isn't?

// Scream 5 better be the balls-out ridiculousness of Jason X
// and not the stupid kind of ridiculousness that was Friday the 13th: Part V

In this case, the answer is "yes".

When you look at people aging badly with plastic surgery it's usually a case of too much too soon. Not that I'll ever know personally but it seems like, when it comes to getting work done, less is more.

Scream was a smart and funny film that was both an homage to and a parody of 80s horror.

Then we got "Scary Movie" that was a lesser parody of something that was already a parody. "Scream", but for morons. But that just seems to be the way the US has been going for a while.

And Rose McGowan getting her boobs stuck in a catflap... geeeeeeeez.

Scary Movie was the worst thing I ever saw in a theater.

Every 5 minutes I'm going 'I can't believe they just did that.'  Then my biggest shock, when it was over and the lights came up, and most of the audience looked like junior high kids.  Who let them all in this R rated movie?

Honestly, I'm hoping for Creed III, since the last movie was a terrific hand-off to the future.  The first Creed film showed they could do that franchise without Sly actually writing it.  He wrote the second one.
