Agreed. Plus, since when does any "security" stop police officers? Unless they sent a social worker out in the middle of the night, they sound full of shiat - much like the cops where I live.

Now can Ifall back asleep?

Snuffybud: Timid Goddess: Snuffybud: If I had DLC's real name (I don't) I could plug it into the Bunhamturd Police Blotter lookup.  Someone else who may know his full real name might try this and see what comes up.

One of the Facebook Caturday ladies said she didn't find him in the police blotters.  So, either he isn't in jail or his name hasn't worked through the system.

Given the threats of physical harm from a neighbor, I'm worried about whether he is in the hospital system...

I was just emailed a name and that police blotter thing didn't turn up anything, so hopefully he's not in jail.

There is an app called Mobile Patrol. Broome County sheriff inmate listing is on there, I didn't see him there.

I've never tried - looks like the options are Farkback (under the contact us header at the top of the pages) or report link to mods at the bottom of the page; the former sounds like it might take longer that it would be worth, but I honestly have no clue on this stuff. I've only ever posted stuff, so never needed to try either. Give each a look and see what you think? I gotta grab a quick shower before hubby turns in, but I'll be back soon.

lemurtx: Manic Depressive Mouse: You know that little voice in your head that says, "maybe you should reconsider" before doing something stupid? Maybe I should start listening to that voice.

Since I don't have to be on campus until at least October, I decided this was a good time to dye my hair purple. I used to dye it all sorts of colours and had several facial piercings, but in the quest to become a responsible and respectable-looking member of society, I have done away with both. The students may have liked them, but I worried about being seen as a figure of authority like that. I won't see any students, ergo I can have purple hair.

I bought a box of temporary dye that is only supposed to last 10-15 shampoos. Fiance asked why I didn't go to the salon, which is a valid question that we live almost above a salon that accepts drop-ins, but I assured him I was capable of doing it myself. I was not.

After opening the box, I thought there wasn't enough dye, but decided to forge on anyway. There wasn't nearly enough dye. I did my best, but jumped in the shower and did at least 5 shampoos already. It's still wet, so it's too early to tell how it turned out, but if it turned out half as well as this cat's hair, I will be happy.

[Fark user image image 421x492]
In other news, I may be going to the salon tomorrow and begging them to fix it.

I know you're in Germany, what brand did you use? (And what's your normal color?) I didn't want to bleach my dark hair, so I got the kind that washes out in 30 shampoos. I didn't do it by myself (I always have done regular color myself) but Mrs L helped. It "took" mostly on one side on top 🤪 at least that's what I see everyday. I've held off on doing it again (should have left in longer) waiting until I get my hair cut, so I'll have less hair😬.  I'd always wanted purple hair, saw the boxes at the grocery and decided to go for it. Since we're social distancing, my boss apparently can't tell!! I'm hoping after I get it cut, more purple will s ...

I used got2b because I had used the shampoo in Canada.
Fark user imageView Full Size

My hair is dark blond/light brown, so it probably wouldn't have turned the bright purple on the box, but I was still hopeful. I used to use Manic Panic and get good results and even saw Manic Panic for sale here, but it was in a city a few hours away, and we weren't going there any time soon. I have some weird thing against buying things online. Anyway, this got2b stuff was a bit weird because it didn't call for leaving the dye in your hair. Basically, you were supposed to rub it in, then wash it out almost immediately. I should have either been more patient about buying the dye I wanted or looked more closely at the box, but I am impulsive. I hope yours works out better, regardless of which brand you use.

Oops! I can't read. I see you did do it. Waiting to redo it with shorter hair is probably a good idea, though having shorter hair was one of the reasons I used to dye mine more often - much easier than with long. :)

Its working for now at least. Diamond is the biggest deal.  We got him for Old86 specifically to fill the role of therapy/comfort animal. And he fills that roll brilliantly at night. XD during the day he had a hard time just hanging out. He needs his walkies and wants to beg for food from anyone who has a snack and all that...

Good idea. When things calm down after the storm, remind me to tell you about Nana and the kitchen fire episode - pretty eerily similar to what you're dealing with, in many ways.

How you holding up? Maybe call the local PD/FD and see about help with the gennie - explain about Old86 and the dementia. They're usually pretty understanding (at least the FD was for us). That way, if the power goes out again, you'll be prepared. They might also be able to help with sedation, not sure, but worth asking for an emt if you need help. That's what they're there for, after all. Hope for best, prepare for worst.

Every time the sheets get changed.

Okay, we lost power. Gotta wake the husband up to get the generator sorted. Glad we have candles and flashlights handy

Oh, you have a gennie - excellent! I was in the storm thread - can't keep 'em straight, lol

He's not waking up though.  He's a chef and they had him tearing up tile floor by hand today.  He was exhausted when he got home

Ideas in storm thread...is your "patient" (sorry can't remember) calm or freaking out?

Old86? They woke up.and freaked out. The light was low, the TV was off, something is wrong!!  I explained and quickly grabbed an ice pop our of the freezer.  Old86 has ice cream and Diamond.

good start - any luck waking hubby? You might have to get in his face and just say I NEED HELP NOW!!

No lick. Power's back for now. We're right by the city center in Raleigh, so we're near.the power company's offices and the Governor's Mansion and all that jazz.  They get the power back pretty quickly

OH, thank gods. Old86 feeling any better? Do any of the suggestions I offered in the storm thread help? Ice cream and pupper was brilliant, btw

Geez... That's quite some wind still.  I left all the emergency lighting set up just in case.

Good idea. When things calm down after the storm, remind me to tell you about Nana and the kitchen fire episode - pretty eerily similar to what you're dealing with, in many ways.

oh yeah - and Diamond deserves steak! Very good pupper *nose boop*

Okay, gonna try to get back to sleep. Gonna finish the beer from my bath and snooze... At least I don't have to worry about it interfering with what I have to do tomorrow-- I take care of Old86 while hubby's at work, so I can nap while they do.

Hello Caturday, Cabbage here.  I'm alright, not dead or in jail (yet?).  Phone problems, memory storage being consumed at excess rate.  Apps keep stopping on it.

Neighbor is still asshole but that's another story.

tigerose: Otera: tigerose: Just talked to dispatch, they are on their way. I will update you all when I get the call. My heart is literally in my throat.

Here's hoping life just got away from him and he posts in here all sheepish about having worried us so badly!

My hope as well.

As I CUOTT, I feel the same. And thank you for doing this.

lemurtx: Woke up and had to check on updates on DLC.
Now can Ifall back asleep?
/I really REALLY don't want to go to work in the morning. Nerve wracking commute home with lightning and pouring rain, luckily ragtop didn't leak too bad at all.
//can someone please pay me to stay home with fur babies? 🤣

Wish I had a magic wand.
I find myself saying that all too often these days.
