(People Magazine)   Shelter workers take in an orphaned new-born rescue kitten unable to walk. They made him tiny homemade splints out of tongue depressors, gauze, medical wrap bandages, and tape to keep his legs steady. The result is anything but depressing on Caturday   (people.com) divider line

Too many dishes!!!!

I hear ya. In my house, it's recycle and garbadge that they leave on the countertop at night..right above the cabinet where the bins are located!

Seriously, it's not that difficult as long as it's dealt with promptly!
Arg and then the same folks who left the mess get mad when there's bugs attracted to the mess THEY left!  If you don't like the bugs, maybe you can clean up!?!

After the repeated problems with ants at the last two places I lived at, plus mice at last place (There are protected wetlands behind that property) I got in the habit of making sure the kitchen was cleaned before going to bed every night. Handwashed what needed to be handwashed, put the rest in the dishwasher. All counters and stove top cleaned with vinegar/water solution. Checked floor for anything that might attract ants/mice.

Not ants or mice where I currently live, but I still make certain the dishes are done & the kitchen is clean before going to bed.

Even if I do that, there's still a pile in the morning.  FIL has insomnia and gets hungry at, like, three am and feeds the cat at least twice during the night

Well, that is a real rock and hard place. Can you introduce paper plates? Or does he just eat outa the container the left overs are in..Come to think of it..why not have a midnight snack bowl, that has sweet and savory items that are filling that he can eat and not create dishes..it's either thaat or you need to freeze every left over!

All I can truly recall is 2d great flood of Bridge departures.  Our sing-cere condolences to those who've experienced.
Wishing to sing but all we get to do is via ZOOM.  Plumbicon sposed to do ZOOM too but we sposed to be simultaneous challenge!! Begin to fear for him, must'nt let him leave house by himself; he gets lost.   Had to leave His New Car in our previous-century neighbourhood.  See there are both Lyft & Uber here that can fetch us there if I Book.  Which I will; not make it That Early.  Also Never Let Him Go Anywhere By Himself.
Cat Note: Piikki the tortie we took in shortly after the GangOf5, climbed up in my lap this AM.  1st time ever.
Make Rounds now so can Book Trip to recover car.

Good Night FM.  Gotta convince doc to let me drive again, way things develop here.  hisss
C U in daylight tho we gotta get mobile Early!!!

I am so sorry Plumbicon is having such memory issues and also your health issues too.  Hopefully you will be able to drive again.  That would make life a lot simpler.  Luckily you have the options of Lyft and Uber. Take care sweetie, always glad to see your posts.

He'll fix himself a can of soup or something like that, you know, really maximize the dishes.  And even with the presence of paper bowls for the cats, he doesn't throw them out after the cats are done eating, no, he leaves them on the table to tempt this terror!!

Hey this is cool, I just got to rescue a kitten, just a couple of hours ago.

My 20lb maine coon had just cornered it in my tool shed and informed me of his successful police action.

I found a scared and underweight kitten, a little grey & tortie girl. Probably about 12 weeks, obviously socialized but she hadn't eaten in days.

We've got her quarantined in the garage until we can get her checked at the clinic Monday. Seems too young to be chipped. For now I just want to give her some calories and safe warm places to nap.

Yeah - I called her (him) "babycat jr," because he looked exactly like babycat in the duo shot on the left.

Once I grabbed Meep, all the other cats have disappeared from my area. Word must have gotten round I am a catnapper. Hoping he shows up again - his URI was worse than Meep's...

Eh, doubtful. He does not like other cats. He's adorable and I love him dearly but he gets super insecure around other cats, shows typical forms of antipathy. He's obviously treated the kitten as something other than prey; wish I'd been around to see the interaction.
