The Saturday morning Cisco update.  We just got back from the followup visit with our regular Vet.  Mrs S was actually allowed to go in.  He's doing fine.  They drew blood but we won't have results until Monday.  He sang "The Song of His People" all the way there and back.  He's not happy with us today!

All right everybody, last chance for those who wanted info on how to write grants or do things for nonprofits to try to make their job chances better in this terrible economy. Download my folder of stuff from a series of workshops.  I'll remove it by end of weekend to clear space in my dropbox.

Hope it helps someone!

Yay!!! Meep is safe!!!  I love that you let her name herself, we did that with my Mao.  If you can keep your kitties and her separate for about a month--in such a way that they can smell, but not see, each other-- it should help smooth out the introduction.

I missed last week's Caturday thread.  I didn't really know quantum_jellyroll directly, but I of course saw his name and his work on the Caturday threads and elsewhere.  I kind of took him for granted, and now I miss him.

So now I'll do the only thing I can do to honor him - post cat pictures.

In the last picture George is enjoying some fresh catnip.  I planted some in the garden, and so far it hasn't attracted neighborhood cats.  He actually isn't as much into catnip as other cats I've known, but he likes the fresh stuff now and then.

Not a cat, but here is what else is living in my yard:

Fark user imageView Full Size

There's actually a family of skunks sharing a burrow with one or two woodchucks.  I kind of leave the skunks be, just after dusk they (or at least one of them) makes the rounds around the pool, then up under the fence into the neighbor's yard.  I've seen George staring at them through the screen door sometimes, luckily we have no close encounters since he stays in.  That said, in his previous life he was a stray in my neighborhood, so for all I know he, the skunks, and woodchucks knew each other and played poker every other Thursday.f
