I hear that. The old phrae, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" comes to mind..especially 48 hrs later, then it's all, "Ibuprophen, ice..ow!". I am getting smarter though..if I know something, I ice it right away. Saves on the after owies!

My old cat Punkin would sit on the bathrub edge to watch me bathe..and dip her floofy tail in the suds..until one day..when she slipped and fell into the tub full of peach scented bubbles..When she jumped out, I swear she took half the bath water with her!! I had to pull her out from under the bed to help get her dryer...After that, I needed another bath!

ProcrastinationStation: Poor Friday just doesn't know what to make of him.  He's curious,  but then Cody puppy yaps at him and he gets freaked out.  Fri isn't used to squeaky dog toys or yappy puppies!  Hopefully he will settle and they'll be friends before too long.

He's keeping his distance for now.  I think the unpredictability and noise is freaking him out a bit right now.

UNC_Samurai: It's been a rough summer.  We knew that our two girls were getting older, but you're never prepared for how sudden it is.  You all might remember we lost Luna in early June.  Yesterday morning we heard Minka cry out in some serious pain, and she was almost paralyzed in her cat bed.  We rushed her to the vet and found out she was in heart failure.


My condolences.

Well not sure if a sads or more flinging arms in the air saying fark it, I'm done

Wednesday, grandpa admitted to hospital for what appears to be colon cancer than has metastasized. He's 87 and doesn't really want to fight it more than he has to. Currently he's in surgery and due to COVID restrictions, the only person who can go to the hospital is mom. And well me but I can only go into the entrance to handle the errands and what not because if she leaves the building, she can't come back for the day. At least I only live down the street from the hospital.

Thursday, my cousin has a spot on his head. They're concerned for skin cancer. So he's being sent to a dermatologist and oh, you might want to do it to since you're similar in age and both fried in the summer months as kids. Sorry, I had my cancer experience 20 years ago, can I pass on this one..

I need to get drunk damnit....

And related to the kitty, we have a litter like this in foster at our rescue. Some serious in breeding issues or something. One looks ok on the outside, not sure inside. One has something like cerebellar hypoplasia and does the weeble wobble thing when walking, running, etc. Doesn't slow her down.

However, Chonk boy, he is just like this little one. Back feet all twisted. One of our directors knew someone who worked in orthotics and someone with a 3D printer. They made his little braces for his back feet and with the vet, figured out a plan on how long to wear, how often, etc. He has turned around wonderfully! Feet are straight and while he still needs to wear his new set for some support (because he is chonky growing boy), he can at least walk on all 4 legs rather than kind of dragging the back legs. Of course, he is now dealing with heart issues and I think the director is going to foster fail him, but, nice to see the difference in him getting around.

It's hard!!  Friday has made a few nose to nose inroads, but they're very brief.  As soon as Cody bounces Friday takes off.  He's definitely suspect of this bouncy noisy creature.

Given how wonderful you are, I cannot imagine that apple fell too far from the tree. I am glad you can be there as emotional support. It's hard, but know that they trust you in the duty.

Snuffybud: The Friday Cisco update.  We decided to pill him as I got home from work, then we'll pill him tomorrow morning before we leave.  He's a smart cat.  First he figured out that the sound of a can of cat food opening meant gushies for him.  By the next day he'd figured out that afternoon gushies meant pills, so he tried to sneak away after eating.  Today he realized that his eating the gushies meant pills so he said 'nope, not hungry".  The only way he's not hungry is if he's been filling up on dry food so we pilled him anyways.  Afterwards it was "oh, ok, yu gotz me.  I'll eat da gushies now."    Buzz has been enjoying the leftovers.


Yay for Cisco AND Buzz!

tigerose: Well, yesterday the County Health Dept said they didn't think anyone should be doing in person classes until our infection rate goes down. No idea if there will be reductions in force becasue of this or not. It would make sense to keep us all on..but then again, it is the school board. I won't know until late Monday night. I might have to watch the school board meeting..ugh..
