Early reports from within the Edmonton bubble says players are pretty happy with the set up they have. Food options are solid. Accommodations are good.

I feel like giving the players a comfortable setup will discourage them from breaking the bubble and screwing things up for everyone.

And let's be real: if one player does fark it up for the rest of the sport, that guy will be done as an NHL player. No team will want him.

Kind of hope they secretly let Bryz into one of the two bubbles just for the lulz.

I'm going to watch baseball before it gets cancelled.

Speaking of....   There was a debate about whether or not the Qualification Round days count for badge purposes.  As the guy that usually ends up doing the tracking, my take is 'Yes, it counts.'   Any confirming or dissenting opinions??

Qualifying Round days should count.

These 3 exhibition days are warmups for us and don't count.

Dissent. The qual rounds are there to replace the rest of the season, where some teams were in range of the playoffs but not in the top 4, and some teams were easily in range of a better seed. Plus, of course, they hadn't played the same number of games. Colorado was a point behind the Blues and had a game in hand, so just calling the Blues the division champs isn't fair to them.

So, the lower ranked teams are fighting for the 4th slot, and the higher ranked teams, almost certainly in the postseason when the halt happened, are playing to determine the exact seeding order. This is just the remainder of the regular season being replaced by something that doesn't involve travel or cross-conference play.

That's why the NHL is calling them the qualifying rounds, and not the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Counterpoint: the NHL is considering stats from the qualifiers as part of the 2020 postseason. In the league's view, these are the playoffs.

To add to the counterpoint.  I've seen pictures of the arenas in Toronto and Edmonton and there's a Cup logo on center ice and "Stanley Cup Playoffs" on the blue lines.

And they have Philly's ads on the boards? Are they going to be changing the ad boards out for every game, too?

Working from home doing the multi cam view via the stream on the nhl app on the tv. They have the preseason and play in round games for $4.99...not a bad deal.

Doc was on WGN radio, they carry the Blackhawks, he said a common quote going around the bubble was "Don't be that guy."

Alternative: What about using the qualifier threads as an add on to the playoffs badge?  Like a medal with an added decoration.  Get your playoff badge, good.  Also get the qualifier threads, get a nicer badge?

It doesn't look like there is much wiggle room in there in case there is an outbreak.

Fair enough, but with so many people to bubble simultaneously, it will be nigh impossible to avoid someone getting it.

I thought we decided in a previous thread that the qualifier round threads counted, and the warm-up games didn't...
