Have they tried ferric ferrocyanide?

I'll believe Texas flips when I see it.

They should try to register as many voters as they can. They should not pour a lot of money into advertising in the state - but they should definitely make the Trump campaign believe that they are. Every minute and every dime Trump spends in Texas is money and time best spent in a true swing state, so tricking him into wasting resources trying to defend Texas is a good strategy, in my opinion.

I don't believe Texas will turn blue this Presidential election, but maybe the next one.
It's definitely headed that way, all states are, even the deep red ones.
The Republican party is a dinosaur headed for extinction.

Yup.  Lot's of Californians are moving to Texas these days.  It'll be interesting to see how that plays out for them down there.

Turning states blue is more than a feel good thing.. letting Republicans run any state tends to lead to pain and suffering.  It's a humanitarian thing.

I'm bothered that Missouri seems more pro-Trump than most states, but that won't matter nationally.  It'll just suck for those of us who live here if Parson isn't sent packing.

I don't think it'll flip this cycle, but whatever it takes to make Trump and McConnell dedicate resources to keep it that way in what should've been a sure thing.

2020-07-28 11:23:37 AM
Good.

If they get even one extra senate seat or congressional district out of it, it was worth every god damn cent.

Hell, I'll take county judge or city counselor.

The Republicans want war. Make them fight for every last inch of power.

2020-07-28 11:23:39 AM
Texas historically has the worst turnout rates in the country.  However, if the turnout rate becomes higher than 65%(especially in the major cities) when early voting is now 3 weeks log then the state will turn blue.

2020-07-28 11:23:57 AM
The two Senate seats in GA look more attainable.

That said, of course make the GOP defend Texas and everywhere else.

That does seem a bit unbelievable, especially since Missouri is still "likely GOP".

Arkansas won't change unless Missouri does.

I live in Texas and it won't vote blue this year. Trump will still win Texas but his party will lose millions to keep it.

What will it take to turn Texas blue?

A knee to the neck.

2020-07-28 11:26:03 AM
How to turn Texas Blue:

- Reject Medicare For All (damn liberal conspiracies)
- Keep criminalizing Marijuana (only liberals like smoking that stuff)
- Embrace Israeli occupation of Palestine
- Become as conservative as you can

2020-07-28 11:26:37 AM
It's not going to happen. Texans don't vote.

2020-07-28 11:27:03 AM
Trump somehow got ahold of my secondary email and in the last weeks the emails have gotten truly thick. I'm getting five or six notifications on my phone A DAY from his farking campaign. It's a noted ramp up.

Someone is panicking.

/govt contractor means I can't donate to anyone

2020-07-28 11:27:10 AM
I live as far away from Texas as possible, I still see their ads asking me to support them.

The most interesting part of their ads? They almost never highlight Trump.  In the past ads used to be "Look at our guy, what an upstanding guy, here's some things he'll do for you, here he is drinking a beer and being a guy, vote for out guy"

Nope, none of that, it's all "Trump loves you and is good for the country" or "Joe Biden is bad, vote for our guy."

It's so dystopian it looks like a High School class had to make an ad that might be in 1984 for a project.

I love reading the local comment sections from various places in the sun belt and how the people born and raised there complain the "liberals" are ruining Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Charlotte, Nashville, Austin, etc.

If it doesn't go Blue this presidential election, I doubt it goes blue next one. Unless Trump wins a second term. If Biden wins 2020 and is the incumbent (or his VP) in 2024, Dem voters in Texas will be a bit less motivated since it won't feel as urgent/dire.

If Biden wins, it will depend on who the GOP runs in 2024. The way they are currently, they may just try to out-Trump themselves. That may be a factor to keep swinging the state more blue.

It's one poll showing Arkansas is a spring state. We have like ten now that have Texas as a swing state.

I'm damn sure going to help. Moved this past March to work, and registered to vote as soon as I moved into my house. Even though I'm in a blue county (wouldn't take the job anywhere else), I'm voting to make this sh*thole as blue as I can.

And I'm going to enjoy it.
