I believe the best thing I can do to help out in this crisis is to stay out of the hospital. So I've managed to lose 48 lb in the last four months, but I'm still too fat. Working on it though.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/07/26/government-unveils-12-week-plan-help-britons-slim-amid-fears/

Scientist discovered the coronavirus prevents the routine burning of carbohydrates. This results in fat build-up inside lung cells -- something the virus needs to reproduce. If you can stop this fat build up, you still get the coronavirus, but it is more like a cold instead of a near death experience (or just a death experience for the really unlucky).

The UK is actually doing something worthwhile there.

What else do people do to stop fat buildup in their body? How about exercise? Search: "COVID-19 exercise." Oh look:  Exercise May Protect Against Deadly COVID-19 Complications.

Boris Johnson is... oh, I don't know how to say it. I wouldn't say he's some kind of 3d chess genius, he's not honest, but he's not actually a moron.

I look at him and I see the same dumb things about me and it makes me think of why I like Homer Simpson.

Horrible reason to elect someone though.

That said he did go to a coronavirus hospital not wearing a mask, for the express purpose of meeting patients, and even I ain't that dumb so...

Ok, in the middle of a pandemic...the nation has more important issues to focus on.

Rent
Utilities
Food
Staying safe
Keeping a job or finding a job

That is a push...when things are normal.

However, if you want to compromise...emphasize exercise.
That's health, stress relief and something to keep occupied in this atypical time.
Just a bit every other day makes a big difference.

So don't say weight and diet...say exercise.
Protests don't count.

It's a genuine issue to be sure, but the trend I've been seeing online and in things like city council meetings is that people are trotting it out to excuse sh*tty behaviors on their part, such as not wearing masks and not socially distancing. It goes kind of like, "Hello, I'm a doctor-lawyer and I shouldn't be forced to wear a masks because a) it doesn't help medically, b) it's unconstitutional, and c) obesity is the real problem."

They do a similar trick with school shootings and bringing up how the real problem is the south side of Chicago.

It's bad enough that when your SO goes on a diet, you go on a diet. This guy decides he was fat and now a whole nation has to fight obesity?
