(Dayton Daily News)   If you've got a classic menswear store in your town, you should patronize it. LGT the place where subby has gotten most of his suits. Fun fact: they tailored a tux for Kennedy on a few hours notice while he was campaigning in 1959   (daytondailynews.com) divider line

We do. And, I really can't. They sell shirts like I might wear to work for about $250. Sometimes they have a "huge blowout" for half off. I can get essentially the same shirt for $60 or less at a department store.

I haven't needed to buy a suit for years. No dice there.

I'd like to give them business, but they're selling clothes at 4 or 5 times the cost of other places...I don't have stacks and stacks of money to give to a store like that.

If they charged 20% more, I would shop there (everything is nice). But 400%? Eh, I'll pass.

All that is left near me is Men's Whorehouse, they sell overpriced crap now, and nobody working there is over 22 so you are lucky if one of them knows how to measure for alterations properly.

Thinking about using one of the online custom suit tailors. Anyone had any luck with those?

Look, I come from a good Christian background and I'll patronize no store where the men swear. I've no need of such filth!

It's too bad the old store is moving.

a trailer is cheap, a nice house costs alot of money, even as much as 400% of some trailer parks.

It would be nice to be rodent and mold free and without opiate addicted MAGA lunatic neighbors, but ar 400% eh, i'll pass.

The absolute dream.  Freedom if you will.  Common clay of the new west, folks of the land, simple farmers if you will, none of this non slave-labor hand made high quality hoity stuff, we the people demand cheap chinese knockoffs, tis easier than asking for a raise.

In the right cities these days, you can buy a passable suit coat or blazer and pants at Goodwill... maybe even a necktie. You'll still be dressed better than more than half the people out there.

Mostly a hatter, I believe, if their magazine
ads are anything to go by.  For years, they
had a small ad in the back of upscale magazine
featuring their berets.  Last time I saw one, I
think they'd changed to Panama hats.  But
they'd be the place to go if you have the money.
I'm sure they feature a full gentleman's line.

Why? The coated suit and tie cannot die out fast enough.

/Men get one acceptable formal garment
//Why does it have to be outdoor gear that cannot stand up to the outdoors?
///Nothing says 'this is stupid clothing'  as succinctly as sweating through your sportscoat

The best in men's clothing. Call up Paul's Boutique, ask for Janice. The number is 718-498-1043.

That's Paul's Boutique, and they're in Brooklyn.

There's one right around the corner from me.  My wife is even friends with the owner.  But after spending a decade schlepping around the world and wearing a suit, I settled down and found a job where I can wear shorts (jeans in winter) and snarky t-shirts, and... I don't know if the classic men's store sells a lot of those.  Maybe I should actually look inside sometime.
