The Global Entry program is mostly used by frequent business travelers. New York has tons of business travelers, so when Trump retaliated against New York by blocking GOES card holders from the program, he was taking aim not just at the affected individuals, but also the companies they work for.

Had it not been for Covid19 almost stopping travel, this would have been a much bigger deal, much faster.

/GOES card holder, not from New York.

All I can tell from that link is that the NYT still suffers from the delusion that anyone should pay for their terrible bullshiat.

The fascist sounding "Homeland Security" department needs to be abolished. I hope if Biden wins and the Democrats sweep the Senate they'll make it so.

And reports are now emerging that it's private contractors - hired from Betsy Devos' brother Eric Piece Of Shiat Prince's firm - beating protestors in Portland. Which brings up all sorts of legal issues no one who actually cares about will have any power to do anything about.

I did not actually expect to see our nation's representative government unravel to this degree during our lifetimes, but here we are...

I worry they won't, considering Obama didn't eliminate Homeland Security after defeating Bush's potential successor.

First off, including the word Homeland into whatever new branch department this was supposedly intended to be was the most obvious dog-whistle dick moves ever.

"Defendants deeply regret the foregoing inaccurate or misleading statements and apologize to the court and plaintiffs for the need to make these corrections at this late stage in the litigation,"

And as AOC pointed out, apology not accepted when there is no real remorse. The judge should sanction the DHS and their counsel.

I've seen enough. This agency has not only become political but it is being used to exact violence against the populace.

Defund DHS and shut it down.

I did catch a headline on the news where he had 50k to 75k "officers" in reserve. It will take more than Prince to drum those up.

And yeah, we all kinds knew that from the beginning. Hopefullt MSM will jump on it.

They're not even the only mercenary group our overly-militarized country inflicts on the rest of the world.

Ugh... This farking country.

Yeah, the name "Homeland Security" probably should have clued you in. They could have made it sound more Orwellian, I guess.

So this is the usual for them. Make a XO/rule/guideline, it gets challenged in the courts and they back down/lose.

The damage has already been done and they know it. The original ban hits all the MAGAt sites and news and will never report this. It's like announce the investigation but never do it.

I'll vote for that program.  Republicans will too when the Biden Administration uses it to haul Chad Wolf and others off to Guantanamo.

I did spray my shoes with a 400 PPM "quats" solution after making my first trip to Costco in 2 months today. Go ahead and shut everything down again for 2 weeks, I've got my TP + ramen + beer situation on lockdown.
