Throw it in the pile with all the other stuff Moscow Mitch won't bother to even look at.

Haven't most countries basically banned US at this point?

Weren't those bans only supposed to be 90 days long so the administration could "figure things out?"

Three years later...

The House passes a lot of things. This is certainly one of them.

I bet the conversation among Democrats was something like this:

March 2019:
"We need to signal that we're doing something about Trump's Immigration agenda."

"Remember when that asshole passed a travel ban?"

"Who the hell does he think he is?"

"We should lift that travel ban!"

"What if we wait a year and then repeal it during election season. It will be a signal to voters that we mean business."

March 2020:
"Hey, remember when we wanted to lift that travel ban?"

"Ban on traveling to the grocery store?"

"Ban on traveling to visit our kids?"

"Oh, the immigration thing. Maybe we shouldn't lift international travel during a pandemic..."

"Let's wait until July..."

July 2020
"Well, hell. The virus is getting worse."

"This coronavirus is never going away, is it?"

"But, still we have to do something to show that we mean business."

"Let's lift the travel ban anyways. It won't pass the senate. And, besides, people will realize that this has nothing to do with encourage people to travel abroad."

"Who the hell would want to come here anyways? We're number one in statistics."

"F*ck it. It's now or never."

It puts names to votes on the record. That is something.
