Those are some seriously knifey kids. I think their "knife awareness" needs to come down a notch.

What's the point of a knife awareness test?

A little too cutting edge for my taste.

I guess he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer?

Well, everybody is aware now.

"Both the young men must have been risk assessed, but the sad reality is that both attended that course carrying knives," she said.

Maybe the risk assessors need to take some sort of knife awareness course.

Who the hell is not aware of knives?

The spork, however, is tired of being ignored.

OK, it took me a minute, but I get it now. The UK is turning into such a nanny state that people are becoming teenagers without ever having seen an actual knife, so they have these to make you aware of what a knife looks like.

You might be surprised.  A lot of people apparently are not in fact aware that they've been stabbed/cut - at least until they see the blood/the pain kicks in.  They figure they've just been punched, or the attacker missed, or whatever.  Fast forward a bit and they start wondering why they're getting so woozy, and they look down.

It was a long, sharp lesson for them to learn today.

/The attacker had a little TIP for the victim. Get the POINT?

I really appreciate a proper ironic tag.

It's a controversial stance but I feel that knives such as "Rambo" knives only whet the appetite for violence.

I have yet to arrive at a good reason to stab anyone to death, but am sure to carry a knife on me at all times, just in case such an occasion were to arise.  It's black on black so you won't catch the glint of my blade in the moonlight as I approach.  Like this one, but from the dollar store.

Extra points if you have a black widow incised on the knife, or the name in any way uses the word "Tactical."

Nothing you can do about stabbings. Says the only country where stabbings regularly happen.

~20yrs ago, living out in the sticks, I build a trebuchet that launched sledgehammers. I had an adjustable 1/2 curve hook on the arm, and tied various length loops of rope around the hammers to dial in the release angle. There are a few combinations of loop length and hook angle that result in a rather vertical release angle. Made for some "exciting" experimentation around noon...

I ran into a barbed wire fence when I was a kid. If I'd gotten stitches, it would have required something like 10-12. Felt like a scratch. I happened to look at my leg as I got on the school bus and saw my sock soaked in blood. I looked up at the bus driver and said "I think I'd better go back home.", and she looked at me with a 'Ya think?!?' look, but since she was a mice bus driver she Saif "Yeah, I think you should too.", rather than what she wanted to say. But yeah, didn't really feel anything significant, despite the 7 inch long slice down my shin.
