Somehow I hadn't expected Jezebel to both suggest that these three women are interchangeable AND give cover to a Trumper.

I get confusing Helen Hunt and Holly Hunter.  Yes sometimes the wrong one pops into my head when I hear the name and I have to make sure I have the right one in mind.  It's mostly because of their similar names but it doesn't help that they are both tiny blondes.

Jodie Foster I don't get why someone would confuse her with those two.  She is much more famous than the other two, so her face should be familiar enough not to confuse her with someone else.  In a vague way her face looks a bit like Helen Hunt's but not so much that I'd ever confuse them.

I mean... three people in a profession where employees are selected for a specific physical appearance and nothing else, all selected for the same category of stock appearances, are sometimes going to look similar enough that differences in appearance created by makeup are going to overpower actual differences in facial features.

That's... not really an insult to any of the people involved, nor is any specific individual person mixing them up as a result, it's just how statistics and, like, physical reality work.  I'm confused why the author of TFA is so puzzled and offended by it.

It's a bit like writing a pissy op-ed about entropy because it's a discriminatory force that restricts the freedom of time to only allow it to go in one direction, or about gravity because of how it holds the black man down.  Like... dude.  What?

The last thing I saw Helen Hunt in was a low budget thriller that was actually pretty good, but her face is farked up now.  I don't know if she had (bad) work done or was in an accident or something, but she looked more like a bad CGI version of Helen Hunt than an actual person, very Odo like.

Holly Hunter is significantly shorter than Helen Hunt and a brunette. (Or was until she began dying her hair. She'll always be a brunette in my book.) Holly also speaks with a mush-mouthed Southern accent.  As for Jodie Foster, she's so different than both of them that I don't see how anyone could get her confused with the other two. If you want to be confused, go back about 25 years and try distinguishing Darryl Hannah, Lori Singer, and Aimee Mann.
