The truly depressing thing in all of this is that we're all realizing we can't get anything done anymore as a country, as a "people". Here is a crisis with obvious courses of action and obvious solutions but we can't even do those incredibly simple things.

If we can't can't come together to overcome this crisis with simple solutions, how are we ever going to make it through any other, more complicated, crisis?

Our adversaries are watching.

"While Gov. Beshear's legal team stated in court that there are no limits on his power, our Constitution, state law and the judge at today's proceedings said otherwise," Cameron continued.

Maybe send a memo to your president.  Our federal constitution says the same thing about him.

I'm thinking this is more of a mental health crisis. How else do you explain people denying the existence of something right in front of them? Of wanting to die rather than admit they were wrong?

They so desperately want to be right and are willing to die to prove others wrong. Ego is a biatch.

This is what we get when we have a two party political system where one of those party's is anti-science and even largely anti fact-based reality in that their supporters get most of their information from bullshiat propaganda outlets.

They've spent many years making sure the planet is good and farked by refusing to accept the reality of climate change or do much of anything about it. Now their rejection of science and facts is killing people in a faster, more obvious way.

No, Democrats were trying to get these people money so they wouldn't fall into poverty. Republicans are the ones that keep blocking that shiat in order to shovel money into the pockets of their friends and familys.

I found the article to be written in a confusing manner.

Near as I can tell, Governor issued orders, AG appealed orders to a Judge he thought would be on his side.
The Judge halted the Governors orders. The KY supreme court has stayed the Judges orders, putting the Governors orders back in effect pending a full hearing.

So the Governors Executive orders around wearing masks etc. are in effect.  Did I miss something?

I think that sums it up. The KY legislature granted the governor (the office, not this particular guy) broad powers during emergencies. Since he's a democrat, they're trying like hell to takebacksies and it's not holding up in the higher courts. The judge who made the ruling is a trumper who's kinda known for this shiat - it's in Boone County, an evangelical right winger's paradise. If it tells you anything, it's right next to Kenton County, which is where Covington Catholic HS is, which is now famous for that little douche in a maga hat staring down the Native American man while on a field trip to DC.

My wife had to return to work. She's paranoid as fark and keeping safe because of it. Our garden is producing pounds of veggies for us to eat and stay alive should the shiat truly hit the fan. I'm still employed and able to work from home 100%. We'll be ok for a while. Even if she gets canned, I can move to my insurance and we'll be poor but ok.

I truly feel sorry for the vast majority of people not as lucky as I am right now.

Nope, you hit all the notes. The ruling (that the Governor's order is invalid) is stayed, but is still the ruling of the lower court. The KYSCOTUS (KYSCROTUM?) stayed that ruling (so it does not take effect) and have ordered a hearing on it. After that hearing, they will either uphold the ruling and lift the stay, and the emergency orders from the governor go away, or they will reverse the ruling, in which case, the governor's order continue in force.

Yes. This is temporary stay until the Supreme Court can render a final opinion on the legality of the Governor's Executive Orders

George Washington tried to warn everyone that the country would go to shiat if we allowed political parties, but we did it anyway. I'm starting to think we should have just let the south secede, by now they would be a shiathole third world country and all the racist rednecks could live there, and the US could be an actual modern country with all the nice thing modern countries have.

The alternative universe has already been entered: Obama was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for essentially nothing and Al Gore was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for pushing the global warming narrative because as we know, he is as you know, a leading scientist, there were no factual errors in his documentary and after all, he invented the internet.
