"Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said Wednesday he tested positive for coronavirus weeks after attending Trump's rally, though he said he believed the two were not related."

What does he think caused it? Too many Goya beans?

Hey, go maskless to Infectopalooza and you might not even HAVE to worry about the election.

Scaling back is for Democrats; real Republicans don't believe in infection.

The dry cough and difficulty breathing is from an imbalance of humors.  Your yellow bile is too high, you need to ride the vomit machine to lower it and you'll be fine.

There's a potential solution they should be considering for the good of the GOP.

"President Trump Sir, people are saying, they say it's time for you to stand tall with bold leadership. Declare it a Mask Free Zone. Show up, and mingle with  the people. Show them that you are not scared of a little virus."

Meanwhile, in the backroom, a series of TV screens display the faces of GOP insiders crafting a plan on what to do when Mr. Trump becomes incapacitated with SARS-CoV-2. And who they will substitute for him on the Nov. ballot.

That sense of caution has ballooned despite Trump's desire to project a back-to-normal image with a glitzy, star-studded convention that could help reset the presidential race.

LOL.  Well, the good news is that wasn't going to happen anyway.

You know, medicine is not an exact science, but we are learning all the time.

Why, just fifty years ago, they thought a disease like COVID-19 was caused by demonic possession or witchcraft. But nowadays we know that Isabelle is suffering from an imbalance of bodily humors, perhaps caused by a toad or a small dwarf living in her stomach.

Cowards. They're all "screw masks" and "hoax virus" all the time, I say let them go and prove to everybody it's safe. They keep saying its' safe so farking go already.

It still comes back to this for me:

Why do they fear him? They should only fear him if he has something he can do TO them. Which means the entire GOP is compromised by something. What can he possible have on ALL lawmakers?

I'd tell them not to fear the weakest, stupidest creature on Earth, but Republicans love to fear things.  The more fear, the better.

I don't think they HAVE a real reason to fear Trump.. but fear is the conservative nature.

And this... THIS is your problem, you shiatheads. You're afraid of a guy who probably can't tie his own shoes? For a bunch of people who claim to be the manliest of men, you sure are a bunch of squalling pussies.

I know being afraid is a way of life for Republicans, so maybe they've completely lost their ability to identify actual threats, but I can assure them that Donald J. Trump is not a threat for anything but flung poo.

He encouraged people to protest stay-at-home orders in open carry states, and they went to statehouses armed with assault weapons. He embed the careers of Sally Yates, Preet Bharara, Walter Shaub, John McCabe, James Comey, Marie Yovanovitch, Alexander Vindman, Kurt Volker, Bill Taylor, and many other apolitical career federal employees. Hew also pardoned a war criminal who owes him favors. Basically, he's the fearless leader to a basket full of deplorables who think it's their mission to cleanse the country of nonbelievers.

Were you ever in a doomed relationship in your early to mid-20's?

Where you knew that even though you loved the other person, they didn't love you back in the same way? Where you knew it was bad for you, and knew it would come crashing down eventually, but you also felt that you were betraying the idea of love if you just bailed out preemptively, and therefore you had no choice but to keep trying? Where every compromise and every slight and every fight destroyed a little more of yourself, but the more of you that was destroyed, the easier it got to stay because they less of you there was to stand up for yourself and your dignity?

And then, after this had gone on for long enough, the sheer sunk cost of the relationship became a justification for hanging on in its own right, because you couldn't accept the though of casually discarding something that you'd put yourself through so much misery to keep?

I think it's like that. I kind've doubt Trump or the Russians or whoever have kompromat on every single Republican that would normally go the convention. However, if they stop supporting Trump now, not only do they lose support from Trump's base, but they'd be admitting (even to themselves) that they made a terrible, terrible mistake, and that is very difficult to do - particularly when they've already made so many concessions and compromises to keep Trump happy.

Trump is not angry because of the scaled down size of the convention (well, he is but).  He is mad because people do not have their priorities straight.  Paying attention to him, cheering for him, telling him he is a good boy should be paramount for everyone.  THIS IS WHAT MATTERS!  Not their health.  Not public safety.  Not  well-being of the country.  Trump comes first.
Once people gets this through their thick skulls, the better we will all be.

CthulhuCalling: I don't understand this GOP fear of a Trump tantrum. Ooh a mean Tweet. Wow.

It helps when you understand what fragile, easily-triggered snowflakes Republicans are.

Oh sure, they talk tough. They act as if they're prepared for WWIII, but just a couple of weeks into a pandemic, they're bawling because they can't get a manicure.

Yeah, they'll take to the streets with their Confederate flags and swastikas to act tough. But the moment there is any push-back from protesters, it's "baaaaaaaawwwwwww!!!! Antifa is soooo meeeeeeeaaan!!!"

They love it when their Presidents and pundits hurl insults and hateful remarks, but the moment that anybody on the left....oh I think you get the picture.

Solution is simple: Shut down his personal social media accounts, especially Twitter. Everyone, including Fox News, ignore him. Marginalize him.

When he won the Clown Car Nomination 500 in 2016, when the delegate count put him over the top, he had balloons and chryons proclaiming.... OVER THE TOP.

He wants his renomination party again.

Their voters, I think. The only people left voting republican love Donald Trump. Everybody else has fled the party. You don't get elected as a republican these days unless you're Mitt Romney (and I don't think he's had to survive a primary challenge yet) or your breath smells like mushrooms and wet Cheetos.

That's pretty much all he can do to them. Make them lose their jobs by telling the morons that still vote republican not to vote for them.

I'm sure some of them are dirty. But most of them are just stupid. Occam's razor and all that.
