I want to go to the local Kroger on the 22nd and watch the heads explode.  Last time I was there less than a quarter of the shoppers were wearing one.

I REFUSE TO WEAR A MASK WHEN I SHOP

online in my home.

2020-07-15 9:19:01 PM
There's a store near me that requires masks -- but on the same sign that says masks are required, it says you don't need to wear one if you have a medical condition that won't let you wear a mask, and if they see you don't have a mask on, they will assume this is the case.

I mean, I don't want to sound harsh, but...if you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, should you be going out now?

For many, this is the biggest personal challenge they have faced their entire lives.

Fewer.

My Dallas-based bookstore chain has been requiring masks for all customers -- children under 10 exempt but no medical exemptions -- for about a month now.  I only saw one guy get huffy about it (though I do see a lot of people wearing them under their noses or slipping them down below their chins)

Fortunately never saw one of those bogus 'Freedom to Breathe Agency' cards.  If you 'can't breathe' in a mask, COVID-19 will be too much for you.  Just stay home.

Yep, that's what happens when you don't wear a mask.

Yeah, but people who don't want to wear masks will now know where to avoid shopping.

That should make these stores much safer.

I went to a takeaway last weekend and we ate on the patio. No masks, but outdoors, social distancing, picnic tables were 12 feet apart. Completely reasonable, no masks and everyone stayed the hell away from each other.

Restaurant two buildings down had 30 people in half the area breathing and coughing all over each other.

It was a great in person demonstration of the prudent and hopeful versus the woefully ignorant.

I'm glad they're employing a person to stand out front to enforce a mask rule and clean carts.

If that's the case, then retailers should have a special shopping hour once a week before the store opens just for those people.

Or they can have free grocery delivery.

Both situations should require medical proof.

Masks have been required in San Diego County since March. Since then I have seen precisely one person in CostCo not wearing one. Now, people allowing them to slip under their nose? Plenty of that.

So you're saying if you had a shop, you would have a sign that said:

Masks Are Required

to Enter This Store

If you have a condition that

prevents you from wearing a mask then...

FOR F*CKS SAKE

STAY HOME YOU

Mine has had masks required signs and enforcement in place for weeks if not more than a month now.

Walmart is the one I'm waiting on. I haven't shopped there in years, I may grab a lawn chair and post up with a camera

I wouldn't give any exemptions. If you are a person that in some way, shape or form falls into mask exemption then I worry about your health and for your safety I can't admit you to my store.

Anyone caught violating the mask mandate while in store will be forced to leave.

Don't like it?

Well thankfully the Republicans have made it clear I don't have to serve anyone I don't want.

I went grocery shopping at Aldi yesterday. Since Covid, I stick to my list and get it done and leave. There was a woman walking around with her husband and teenage son, and they weren't wearing masks. This is NY so we are supposed to but ALDI doesn't enforce it. Anyway, I'm walking around and doing my thing, I notice this woman keeps cutting me off in freezer aisle. She purposely would get in front of me when I would head towards a certain item. I didn't pay any mind and went about my business, and then she did it again in by the chips. I stopped doing what I was doing and stood there and looked at her. She and her kid and husband all stood there staring at me with their arms crossed. I shrugged and grabbed my chips, and said, "Whatever," and went about my business. They walked off, and I was checking out I noticed they were doing this to other shoppers. I told the cashier that I think these people are trying to  start something and told her my experience. She said they're scared to confront non-mask wearers b/c they don't want things to get violent. Non-mask wearers often come to the store and do that.
What the actual fark. People just suck.

Medical conditions that prevent persons from wearing masks would have them on ventilators.

Yeah, it has been crazy at some Krogers.  Things get hairy at my wife's store.  Made worse by how they're dealing with taking bottles again.  The bottle room at her store is located at the rear, and people have to walk bottles through the store, but by rules, they hold people outside the front door till there's a machine available for use.  I went to a store with bottle room located at the front of the building, much more efficient.

Claude Ballse: Both situations should require medical proof.

But they all yell how that breaks HIPPA laws.

To top it off, those chains are only declaring it at corporate level.  I switched Menards stores because the one in Davison was not enforcing mask.  So I started going to Montrose, where the store was doing a good job enforcing mask wearing.  Meijer should've been listed, they've been good about it too.  So really, till Michigan made a state wide rule, real spotty enforcement.  Still kind of spotty, but the threat of fines tends to motivate management.

"It's the principle of forcing customers to do something..... Oh, this will cost me money?  Um, everybody will be wearing a mask tomorrow."

Three times now I've had an obviously insane non-mask-wearer follow me around in a store chanting at the top of their longs "YOU HAVE A SLAVE MIND" because I am wearing a mask and trying to avoid them. I have also had several instances of insane non-mask-wearers taking loud and indignant exception to my actions when I make large (and therefore obvious) detours around wherever they are walking or camped out on the sidewalk. They apparently feel like I am insulting them by avoiding them.

It's almost like this pandemic has given - FINALLY GIVEN - powerless losers the power of life and death over their fellow human beings, and they get upset when you don't cooperate in their little death rituals.

Hasn't happened to me yet, but I've read of a couple of instances where Plague Rats even try to remove the masks of people around them.

This shiat is insane. A significant number of our fellow Americans are insane assholes.
