No Trumpers allowed.

Continuous reminder that their only problem with Trump is his personal rudeness and are more than happy to have anyone else pushing his policies.

It would be a gigantic mistake to underestimate Chris Christie's enormous popularity. He is a political heavyweight whose massive support from middle class voters will only increase between now and 2024. If Christie steps into the race, there'll be a fat chance of anyone else getting his large poll numbers.

Yes, that has clearly been the plan of the "never-trump" republicans from the outset.

We should really just called tem "embarrassed Trump says the quiet part loud" republicans. It's a mouthful, but accurate.

We only ever get worse.
Clinton and Obama were Reagan like leaders.
Biden is very similar to George W. Bush .
The next Republican will be worse than Trump to move the next Democrat to being Trump-like.
But that is alright. He will be both more electable than a progressive and the lesser of two evils in a general  election.

"the Bridgegate matter which now has been dismissed by the United States Supreme Court in a 9-0 vote that there was no crime committed there. And yet the media and others convicted people before they even had a trial, and it materially affected my ability to run for president. Now that we've had that cleared away and it's no longer a controversy, you know, from my perspective, maybe 2024 is time to try to go after that job again."

If it isn't illegal, there is nothing wrong with what I did.

I suspect that a welfare check will find Christie's semi-decomposed corpse slumped over a half-eaten bucket of KFC before 2024.

2020-07-15 4:42:06 PM
Really? Less corrupt? Democrats have proven they're not going to do jack shiat about a corrupt Republican administration. Dubya was the writing on the wall. Trump only cemented it.

Republicans have zero incentive not to run someone even more blatantly and vulgarly corrupt than Trump. If anything, the only thing that might change is the person may end up being less dumb and more competent than Trump. But still every bit as corrupt. They know now that there are no consequences for Republicans, and they'll just turn that up to max in 2024.

Biden has no interest in cleaning up the mess Trump made. Trump is the perfect patsy. Biden and the donors  don't get any blame for it.

Where is Biden running on the replacement tax deduction Trump put into place that expires? There isn't any because he will let it expire and make the working class pay more in taxes while having deniability.Meanwhile most wealthy tax cuts stay in place. Some red meat will be thrown to the masses in news dumps to pretend he did something but Biden will just be Biden.

And it won't help that Biden will be relentlessly attacked by the Left once he's elected. The "hold the nose and vote for Biden" crew will switch to "push him from the left" mode.

Obviously he will be attacked relentlessly by the RIght for being a Democrat, just like Obama was, that's a given.

But the lack of support from the left will mean his job approval will be around 30% for his entire term, leaving the Republicans to control the narrative that Biden had a "failed presidency" and that a change of party in power is needed.

It won't be Christie (he can't wish Bridgegate away just due to a technicality) but some other wretched Republican has a good chance of winning in 2024.

Yeah we thought that after G.W. Bush also and now we have to either accept Trump or G.W. Bush II as President.
