I was once executive director of a small non-profit organization that helped a certain population of people in need. We had a biweekly publication to put out, grants to apply for so we could stay afloat, finances to manage, and staff to manage.

For everything except editing and publishing the publication (as a former journalist), I was nowhere near the smartest person in the room. But I knew that. So, I hired staff or got volunteers to hand a lot of those things. I might not have known the best practices in depth, but I could recognize that they did. So, I hired the best (that I could afford) and listened to them.

It's not rocket science. It's about keeping your ego in check for the good of the organization or workplace or government or whatever.

We'd be better off with President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho.

At least the press conferences would be entertaining.

When you put it like that, it actually sounds like the president in idiocracy was objectively a better leader than trump...

Right now I'd be pleased if he would just admit he is an idiot...

I actually would not be surprised if Trump got out a gun at a rally and started shooting it up in the air.

President Camacho was a porn star who got paid to lay other porn stars.

I honestly thought the "1 notable way it isn't" in the story headline was winding up to a reflection on the lack of handjobs available at Starbucks.

Kudos, I guess, for taking the high road.

But when you are dumb as President Trump is it might as well be rocket science, or quantum physics. And the fact that his gigantic ego prevents him from admitting he might not know something or possibly even be wrong means that we the people are getting screwed.

And, if he loses in November that ego is going to push him over the edge, and not just on Twitter. He will do everything in his power to retaliate against his enemies, and in Trump's eyes anyone who is not actively heaping praise upon him and supporting him is his enemy. He will pardon anyone and everyone he can think of who is a Conservative, he will issue Executive Orders to tear down as much as he can can from previous Presidents. In short he will "burn down" as much of this country as he can in the hopes that the incoming President will find it impossible to fix this country. And I think we are seeing glimpses of it with his commuting the sentence of Roger Stone and  AG Barr ordering the early release of Robert Courtney, a pharmacist who was sentenced to 30 years in jail for diluting medication of cancer patients and other seriously ill patients and pocketing the profits.

That's a lot to ask of someone suffering from the typical levels of sociopathic narcissism inculcated by even the petty authority of managing an Applebees, let alone the eg-gregious levels in President Trump and most members of Congress.  Power corrupts, and while absolute power may corrupt absolutely, petty power seems to corrupt all out of proportion to itself, as well.

hubiestubert: [Fark user image 460x311]

Camacho's recreation was a hell of a lot cheaper than Trump's, too.  That SAW of his and that trike, some beers, that pool on the South Lawn?  That can't possibly have cost as much as Trump's golf habit.  And I doubt Camacho bought that stuff from a company he owned using taxpayer dollars to pay himself for the stuff he was receiving...

He was.  Replace the crop failure with the virus in Idiocracy.  Camacho would have asked Luke Wilson what to do and he would have replied with something like:

"I'm no doctor, but I think viruses get transmitted from person to person through sneezing or spit or something.  You need to tell everyone to stay away from everyone else, and if they're out in public they need to cover their faces with something, like maybe a mask.  Also tell everyone to wash their hands, with water, not Brawndo."  Then Camacho would have done it.

So yes, Camacho would have handled this better.  Alternatively, drop Trump in the movie and he would have belittled water, claimed he knew better and doubled down on Brawndo.

This.  Being a good manager isn't about being a big swinging dick, it's about organizing and utilizing your human resources to solve your problems and accomplish goals.  An ideal manager would be one who a newcomer to the team might go white with fear after finding out he's not one of the team, but actually the leader.

I posted this the other day and as it's appropriate here and took me some time to write I'm reposting it.

We have all heard by now that President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho is better than President Donald John Trump. I was thinking that the many advantages Camacho has have been underestimated.

Camacho: Five time Ultimate Smackdown champion
Trump: A couple of appearances on WWE

Camacho: Porn superstar
Trump: Appeared in a Playboy video

Camacho: Made a gormless looking man Secretary of Education
Trump: Gave the job to Cruella deVoucher

Camacho: Kept his promises to have the economy fixed and the Dust Bowl ended in one week
Trump: 20,000+ lies and counting

Camacho: Smartest man in the world when elected
Trump: Only thinks he's the smartest man in the world

Camacho: Treats everyone equally
Trump: Racism Watchdog says WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF OF WOOF WOOF

Camacho: Fired an assault rifle in front of Congress
Trump: Machine-gunned hamberder farts in his bunker

Camacho: Played in Idiocracyby Terry Crews
Trump: Played like a cheap fiddle by Kim Jong Un

Camacho: Immediately hired the smartest man in the world
Trump: Decided to put the one black guy in charge of the department with 'urban' in its name

Camacho: Pardoned Not Sure for doing a kick-ass job
Trump: Granted clemency to Roger Stone

Camacho: Botched pandemic responses: 0
Trump: Fiddles while the morgues overflow

Camacho: His supporters drink Brawndo
Trump: His supporters drink bleach

The other thing I noticed was that President Camacho shared his beer with Not Sure. Trump would never have done that.

And when Frito and Rita presented President Camacho incontrovertible evidence that Joe was successful in getting plants to grow again, he changed his mind, stopped the execution, and gave Joe a pardon. I don't think I've ever seen Donald admit he was wrong and change his mind.
