"I don't believe it is a conspiracy theory. I just don't trust the information we have been given about it. I do believe it is being politicized. Is that clear enough?"

So, he doesn't think it's a conspiracy theory, he just thinks a group of people are conspiring to lie to the populace for their own political gain. Totes different.

I think the answer is no, that is not clear enough.

Dude is just offended that he was a dumbass and is getting called out, and has no way to backtrack.

His son is probably, what, 70?  Definitely still in the danger zone for this one.

Shame, that.

I scrolled through his twitter feed yesterday when he popped up on my facebook feed (a friend had posted something about the " everyone is lying about Covid, but I super serial believe it's a thing because my son has it, but also everyone is lying about Covid" bullshiat.  For those who don't know, this is pretty much par for the course of ole' chuck.  He tweets a lot. Really a lot. Trump wishes he could tweet as much as Chuck does in a day.  And every single bit of it is batshiat, pants-on-head insane.

Hopefully you'll catch it and die choking on your own mucus, Chuck, you piece of shiat.

2020-07-15 2:58:37 PM
So what do you not trust about them Chuck? That they want you to wear a mask, keep a distance from people, avoid large gatherings, the shutdown? Please Chuck enlighten me with your vast wisdom. Maybe you should join the Trump team, then we can have a TV president with TV advisors.

I never had him pegged as a waste of carbon but yet there it is. If I had to wager money I'de have to guess that since he's a sort of productive member of society and not strapped to a rubber room screaming about squirrels and brain control waves he had to have a pretty good idea that the virus was in fact real and he just didn't think it would effect him or anyone he cared about. he was more than happy to treat it as a funny internet game so long as it was other people suffering, and only became concerned when it touched someone he cared about.

I'm really sick of every farkin farkwad out there with half a frontal lobe and internet connection, thinking they know the real secret truth behind everything, or suspecting that it's all a hoax, but they can't quite explain how it all works.

Fark those people.

Remember when people used to say "I don't know"?  Does anyone say that any more?

No, now it's just a general disbelief in all normal reality, without anythng to replace it. But they are sure there is  something!  Some Q, or some secret pizza place, or mind control, or whatever the delusion de jour is.

Fark 'em all.  All 3 billion of them.

He followed that news up with this Tweet: "Let me clear this lie up," he tweeted. "I have never claimed that Covid 19 isn't real as many news stories have falsely stated. I don't believe it is a conspiracy theory. I just don't trust the information we have been given about it. I do believe it is being politicized. Is that clear enough?"

So he reversed course and said that the news media are the only ones lying that COVID-19 doesn't exist. He noticeably dropped the qualifiers "doctors, Democrats, and CDC." He won't care to name which media empire is lying about it, but I bet if pressed he'd say CNN. He also didn't explain exactly what information he thinks they're wrong about. Likely that he thinks it's not worse than the flu, which we'll also see him backpedal on once he sees his own son on a ventilator.

There is always a way to backtrack. You simple say "I was wrong before, but I changed my mind".
He was just conditioned not to do that.

No Chuck.  It is even more confusing now. Which information don't you trust?  The information the CDC is sharing or the information Trump spreads.

Waiting for the son to die so I can point and laugh

2020-07-15 3:01:36 PM
Time for a CSB.

Chuck Woolery went to Charles Russel elementary, in Ashland, Ky. And so did my dad. According to my dad, Chuck kept teasing him because Chuck's family was wealthy and of privilege, while my dad lived in a 1 room house with no plumbing. So at the end of the day, one day in the late 40s, my dad cornered Chuck in the coat closet of the classroom, hung him from a coat hook, then went outside and found Chuck's mom sitting in the car waiting to pick her son up; Dressed to the nines, as one would in the late 40s. So my dad picked a nice ripe persimmon from the tree in the schoolyard, and chucked it through the open window of the car.

Contributes nothing to the story, and I'm not sure how much my dad embellished, but I'm still amused by it.

He's right though, there are a group of people conspiring to lie to the populace for political gain, it's just not the group of people he thinks it is.

Hint: It's the ones refusing to wear a mask

2020-07-15 3:02:19 PM
I was so pissed when I saw his post.

My son is 19. He works as an EMT for a local ambulance company and is a volunteer firefighter.

He has COVID, and he is SUFFERING. He's sequestered in a hotel room by himself, convalescing without any human comfort. His dad and I bring him food, drinks, OTC medication, and provide as much as we can for him, but it sucks to know that I can't go in his room and help him in any way.

For everyone who says this is a disease that isn't real, or only affects the elderly, or isn't that severe, or any other justification for not wearing a mask, you're WRONG, and you're not only spreading rationalizations that aren't correct, but you're probably spreading the virus as well. Fark you for that.

This story would be much, MUCH better if it was Chuck instead of his son, since I know nothing about his son and therefore can't say if there is karma at work here.

But hey, every story like this isn't just a small measure of poetic justice, it's also HOPEFULLY something that wakes up some of these assholes and gets them to start taking this seriously. Even if only a few, it's better than none.

Also, fark Chuck Woolery.

I bet dollars to donuts that he assumes that either his son was paid off to discredit him, or that someone poisoned his son with an unrelated virus in order to fool them.

Well, son, looks like your daddy is volunteering to care for you for the next few weeks it takes for you to recover.  After all, you can't trust those "hospitals" and "doctors" that are lying about the virus.  You let them take care of you and they'll kill you to make Trump look bad.  Better that daddy will make sure you get well soon.

I've usually been drawn towards darker, dystopian speculative fiction rather than uplifting, Utopian speculative fiction because while I can suspend my disbelief when it comes to alien species and Dyson spheres and faster-than-light travel all sorts of amazing sci-fi concepts, I CANNOT suspend my disbelief when it comes to fiction that ignores the utter stupidity and short-sighted idiocy that routinely defines the human race.

Same reason why, as much as I loved the dawn of the Internet, I wondered if it wouldn't end up being a bad thing for society overall.

I'm still undecided on that.

But I do think a strong case can be made that the Internet has empowered the ignorant to extent that hasn't been seen in generations. It not only put countless morons in contact with one another, it has allowed them to RECRUIT.

I have been getting pissed at someone I work with he stops by my office now and then and I have to listen to him spout off his vast medical knowledge (none) about C-19. Like how younger people hardly feel it so I guess your son is faking to him and the only young people that it kills are ones with preexisting conditions or how they are over counting deaths, yeah they had the covid but something else killed them.
One that pissed me off was he was talking about the area my parents live, a resort town area and how a lot of gay people live there. Yeah that is the reason for the spike, gay people.
He also said this would be over now if the democrats let Trump be Trump and do his thing, thought thats what we were doing.

Hope your son pulls through this shiat storm.

As usual... "NOT UNTIL IT AFFECTS ME!!!!"
I do feel some sympathy for the son though... not for contracting the virus, but for having such a stupid f'k for a father.
