What was the law firm doing in a petri dish in the first place?

documenting the neglect the petri dishes were being subjected to, according to subby.

This should form the centerpiece Trump's Health Care Plan -- free living wills for the working class scum and the abolishment of the Estate Tax

The place I work at every day hasn't been neglected. 99% of the workers are working from home but the building is ready to go. Janitors clean every day, maintenance guy daily, trash truck comes twice a week, and the landscaping company weekly.

I've been watering the plants people left at their desks as well. Wouldn't want them to see dead plants everywhere.

It looks like everyone just left for lunch at the same time.

That's called "increasing the drama for political effect."

Fark anyone that supports this administration.

This is nice and all... but a lot of estate attorneys will do living wills for free under normal circumstances. It's a gimmick to get you in the door.

Yeah, well my law firm has black jack, hookers, and wrongful death suits for the next 60 years

If the law firm wants to make a positive difference, they should offer legal support for teachers who go on strike.

Hospitals and primary care providers will also do advance care planning, medical power of attorney, and living wills for free. They are also better qualified than attorneys because they have the clinical expertise to have these conversations.

If they are being forced, we need to send in the military to take out the slavers.  If the govoner is enslaving people, we need to know, and we need to shut down florida.  With nukes if necessary.  And if the teachers are not enslaved, they need to quit because their employer, the floriduh government, is a bad employer.  Therefore, by logic, unless they are enslaved, the teachers that do go back to work are willing participants in the bad government of florida and should be treated as accomplices with the govoner.  Give them no quarter.

Certainly, but it's also part of estate planning. In addition, it's no big deal. The forms are available online, fill in the blanks and sign in the presence of a notary. If you are the least bit troubled at the prospect of being kept  in ICU in a coma with no hope of recovery, you can do it yourself.

By the way, it's called a "Directive to Physicians" in the state where I live. Apparently it's called an "Advance Directive" in Florida. "Living will" is a misleading term that is sometimes used to describe a trust.

This is going to be what finally darkens my sunny disposition. It's the defining moment. Are we going to take of children, as civilized societies so? Are we going to pretend to revere teachers or send them into a pandemic playground?
JFC.

OR - they just need to keep their jobs to support their families and their government is stupid enough to require them to be indoors with a bunch of people who don't know how to not infect everyone around them.

It could be your sarcastic, hyperbolic BS, I guess, but I'm going with something a bit less unhinged.

OK, they need to support their families.  How do they do that when dying in the hospital from corona virus?  So, if they need to support their families they need to quit their jobs in floriduh and find another job.  Maybe streaming porn on pornhub?  Or form a collective to fight the evil empire called floriduh?  But continuing to go to corona virus central to work is illogical.  Even if they have families.

If Corporations like Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Grocery Store Chains and other businesses can figure out a way to protect their workers while keeping open, why do we hold our teachers, who are supposed to be our best and brightest who teach the next generation, a pass?

I want solutions and not excuses from academia.

You want me to pull every single story that happened?

You really think its wise to send our kids to school only to have to shut down and sanitize it every time someone gets sick?

Honestly, I think we should close all our schools for good and go 100% on-line and abolish the K-12 Grade system in favor of a learn as you go approach, but that wont happen.

I think we can protect teachers and roll kids in and out (maybe 30% capacity) and stream all classrooms for the kids that are home.

My wife's not going back to her teaching job if they don't come to their senses in a couple of weeks and go online-only again. It won't be porn, but we'll find some other source of income. From a fiscal perspective, her yearly teaching salary isn't even enough to cover the hospital stay if she gets sick, so it's a no-brainer.

I am anxiously watching to see how many subs they sign up this year here in Potato Town. Pay is $65 per day for an associate's degree and $105 per day for a bachelor's.  Straight 1099.

Oops it's now $72 per day with 60 college credits and $83.00 with a bachelor's or better.  Teachers should be able to control that shiat easily when they threaten a mass walk out and the subs won't step in.  Jesus Christ but what contempt the managers must have for prospevtive workers to even  offer wages like that.

All the kids here in Tater Town got a laptop at the start of the year.  The cable provider offers free or near free service to families with kids on on subsidized school lunch.

Oh good, more sarcasm and hyperbole.  I just find it funny (in a brain-pain kind of way) that you would choose to blame the teachers as opposed to the broken system they find themselves in.  Some people can't simply quit their job without fairly dire consequences, so they have to take the risk.  My point is that they shouldn't have to.

I'm not blaming them.  The fark headline says they are being FORCED to go back to work.  I am anti slavery, in all forms.  So, if they are being forced, we need to take drastic action, and eliminate the slavers.  If they are not being forced, then they need to do what is best for themselves, and by logic, what is best is to quit.  If they don't quit, then they are complicit with the Sith Lords that run Floriduh.  Anybody who sides with the forces of evil is evil.  Even if they have a family to feed.

Any sub who willingly goes into a school before it is 100% safe is a skinjob in the employ of the evil empire of Floriduh.  When we finally start fight this war against the virus like a real war, the scabs will be known enemy combatants and the military will crush them with tanks.

That's not entirely fair.  Given the pathetic state of the social safety net, some qualified subs might take the job out of pure desperation.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, if the law firm from TFA really wants to help teachers, they'd do what they can to help them to strike and win.  Including making sure that those who join the strike are still able to feed themselves and their families.

So, if a person just need a job to feed their family, it was OK during WW2 to gas the jews?  We are at WAR!  The front line workers are in danger.  Like teachers.  If they go to work for the empire, they are complicit with the empire.  They get no pass from the rebels when the rebels finally take up arms against the skinjobs.  If they ever do.  Right now most still human people think that the corona zombies are human, just because the virus found a way to make skinjobs that look and act human, except they don't wear masks and go on pleasure crusies.

There is NO exucuse for a teacher to take a job for the Orange hoard.  If they want to survive they need to form up resistance cells and start fighting.

In Texas, teachers don't have the right to strike. If they do, they may lose their teaching credential and their pension. It's total and complete bullshiat.

Are you off your farking medication?

If I were, are you about to start shaming a person with mental disorders?

Calamity Gin: anfrind: If the law firm wants to make a positive difference, they should offer legal support for teachers who go on strike.

In Texas, teachers don't have the right to strike. If they do, they may lose their teaching credential and their pension. It's total and complete bullshiat.

We should revoke statehood from texas.  Break it up into about 25 units that don't have full statehood.
