You can pump in the whiskey, stay drunk all the time

Why waste time with the pumping when I can go to the source?

/Why would I use Jack Daniels when I can get a good whiskey

I see those stupid fireball chillers in bars.  Can't imagine how nasty those things get if they aren't rigorously cleaned.  This has got to be even worse.

Wouldn't all that exposure to the air reduce the alcohol % by evaporation?

Imagine how boozy the room would smell after a few hours of running it.

Does it really matter when using shiat alcohol?

Hard pass. It's impractical, and JD tastes like licorice to me.

*shrugs* I like the occasional Jack and Coke, but Jack Daniels Honey?  You're a bad person and you should feel bad.

/Honestly never got the hate for JD, it's a decent, cheap and smooth bourbon.
//I don't drink it neat, but there aren't many liquors I do.
///Yeah, it's bourbon, Tennessee whiskey my ass!

It would be better with vodka bottles as then you wouldn't have to worry about dyeing the water all the time.
Neat idea!

Why would you use a good whiskey for a fountain?

It's a fine whiskey. But - despite being relatively inexpensive - you pay a premium for the brand name. There are a lot of better bourbons on the market for as much or cheaper. Still, I also don't get the hate.

I don't disagree that some of what you're paying for is the brand name, but that's true of almost any liquor or alcohol product... or product for that matter.  The most popular of anything usually isn't the best, that involves too much personal taste, it's all about the lowest common denominator and consistent decent to good quality.

Jack Daniels or Jim Beam are probably involved in 9 out of 10 people's first encounter with bourbon.  If they like the taste then some of them will experiment with other bourbons and find ones they like more and some they like less... and far less if they're bargain hunting.

Sure, and Steak n' Shake doesn't sell hamburgers.... if they're even still in business by the time I finish this sentence.
