Maybe she had reason to believe that the "cops" were actually media people in disguise. They're sneaky, those media people.

I know when I want to evade the police, I go into another room. This is a lot easier than another city, or state or country. And it is fool proof. Who would know?

Is tin foil around a cell phone a thing? I find it more useful around the groin and skull.

I laugh at the tin foil to block a cell phone location. Everybody I know uses a potato chip bag.

.. I mean you could just turn the cell phone off if you don't want to be reached. Use a burner phone ...

I think that only works if you're white and wealthy.

kinda CSB: My house has aluminum siding underneath the outer vinyl layer. I had a steel panel roof installed a month ago. I can receive cellular text messages in the house but I have to go out on the deck to send out a text.
At least I don't have to climb a pole to converse on the phone - yet.

Arnold Ziffel says 'Hola'.

Gotta turn it off and remove the battery these days to prevent tracking. Even "off" isn't good enough. Or you can keep it in foil if it's not convenient to pry it open.

Blocking bags are old news in the photography section, fallback to bags for safely charging LiPo batteries.

Ask Piers Morgan why someone might want to protect their cell phones from the media

If she wishes to secure her freedom all she needs to do is loudly proclaim she hasn't turned evidence on Donald YET, The Stone strategy is a sure bet

I custom built a faraday cage out of chicken wire and duct tape.

Yeah, and most phones nowadays don't have removable batteries, (or at least that you can remove without tools,) so the foil around the cellphone thing isn't entirely stupid.

Moreover, regarding the burner phone, you can envision scenarios if you're on the lam when having your original cellphone might help you make a getaway. Y'know, if you feel like the police have your location narrowed down to the city level and you need to go elsewhere, you turn on your phone and somehow get it on a bus going the opposite direction, slip it to someone to carry around - that sort of thing.

Obviously they might use the fact that you did that as evidence of criminal intent, but if you're in deep enough that that's not going to matter, I could see it being a reasonable thing to do.

Hiding from the cops? The media? Maybe she's hiding from several dozen of the world's most well-connected pervy old white dudes. This woman has got a lot of enemies now, and there probably isn't a safe place for her on this planet.

"  Prosecutor: which is why cops had to bust down her door and she wrapped her cellphone in tin foil?  "

More fallout due to the trend to solder in batteries in electronic equipment these days

Didn't want to be harassed by the press or suicided by the police. Makes sense.

If she was living in her own house, was she really hiding? Seems to me that would be a good place to start looking for her.

Sadly, I don't think anyone will be revealed to be a pedo by this trial. She clearly isn't going to co-operate or out anyone, she'll have victims testify against her, probably end up guilty, and that'll be that coontil possible 'suicide' or actual suicide in prison).

I hope I'm wrong.

Or off the planet, considering that she's going to have some things to answer for in the afterlife.

The only reason she is still alive is she must be sitting on a safe/server/cloud box or thumb drive. That will have to be secured before any material change in health. Epstein obviously chose poorly.
