Bolsonaro, who downplayed the impact of the pandemic that has claimed nearly 73,000 deaths in the country as of Monday, reiterated that he feels "very good", and indicated that he does not have a fever or breathing problems. She has also not lost her sense of taste, one of the most common symptoms of coronavirus.

Wait what?

I really thought that "bitten by an emu" part was added by the farker to make the headline amusing. Nope.

I can understand (possibly) the his vs her confusion since Portuguese (sometimes) uses the same possessive determiners for both male and female possessors. But "he" is "ele" and "she" is "ela" so... fizeram um erro.

Some birds like Hookers and Rhea are pretty birds from a distance.  Up close, they have lots of 'character,' and take a very special person to like them.

A local campground has an emu. It's pretty chill. Will eat seeds from your hand and let you pet it.

If the emu was from Peru would that make it a Lima Emu?

Emu are pretty smart.  No wonder they hate Bolsonaro

2020-07-14 5:00:24 PM
Bolsonaro is going to be just fine, and is going to use this to continue to downplay COVID. Those 73,000 deaths were probably just filthy Venezuelans anyway.

Birds have their pride. They remember they are related to the dinosaurs.

No fakey orange T. rex impresses a rhea or a raptor.

As Lumber Jack Off was quick to catch, it wasn't an emu (Australia) but a Rhea (South America). All the large flightest birds. living and extinct, are found around the South Pole. Fossil flightless birds are even found in Antartica, as are Penguins. Moas, elephant birds and ostriches partly complete the collection of dinosaur-like birds.

Fun fact:  A penguin can jump as high as six feet according to one of my recent books of factoids. And yet they can not fly. They do give flight the old college try, though and fly perfectly well under water.

You are more likely to be bitten by an emo than an emu in New York City.

The same is true of New Yorkers generally, and NYC rats. The rodents are much less likely to bite. And despite their foul reputations, pigeons are probably less likely to damage public property.

What's wrong with everybody, don't you care???
Has anyone even checked if the emu is ok?

Bolsonaro and the ratite in question (emu or rhea): the two stupidest creatures in Brazil.
