(New York Daily News)   NYC blames Trump for a delay in implementing price congestion. Well that and there really hasn't been any congestion since mid-March   (nydailynews.com) divider line

It's a dry cough.

On one hand, Trump should love it because wealthy people will get preferred access because they can afford it much more easily.  On the other hand, he will hate it, because he might have to pay for something.

Dead for Tax Reasons: what is 'price congestion'

Its meant to not be understood
It is turning New York streets into toll roads and subcontracting it out.
Its like red light cameras but with a whole road from what the article says.

If the CoVid-created lack of congestion is the reason, it is, in fact, Trump's fault.

Dyslexic 'Congestion pricing'.

Question is: Subby or FA?
Any fine article readers? WTF is wrong with you?

NYC needs anything but more taxes. Holy Christ. It's already $30 to drive the 30 miles from Paramus to Manhasset.

/Subby is a moran, it's congestion pricing, not price congestion

Good. fark people driving in NY. Take the bus, take the damn train. I was there one time (and unable to take public transport to my destination) and my average speed in Manhattan was 1 mile per hour.

Do you not know how to drive?

Honest question, because if your "average speed in Manhattan was 1 mile per hour" you must've either been incompetent or scared shiatless. Like, it's really not hard to drive in Manhatan. You just need to grow a pair and be prepared to go toe to toe with other drivers. If you're going to drive passively, yeah, you're not going to get anywhere, but if you have a 3 week old rancid milkshake and are ready to chuck it at the guy who is about to cut you off, you'll get through just fine, lol.

No, I know how to drive in cities. I had to cross town at 4:30PM on a Friday. Trust me, I was cutting everything I could, including darting across intersections into the corner to avoid "blocking the box"

It's easily understood; London has been doing it for almost two decades;

It's not a bad strategy; Driving in Manhattan is a goddamn nightmare, let alone parking, so disincentivizing their use is a good thing. Anyone who owns a car in Manhattan can easily afford it, and anyone living outside lower Manhattan who commutes in is likely taking mass transit anyway. The only people who really stand to lose on this deal are parking garages... boo hoo.
