Hello?

That's a really pretty bottle, and not insanely expensive (in the UK).

Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, Ireland and the British Dominions beyond the Seas Queen, Defender of the Faith, is now reduced to using the Royal Family's fame to sell cheap gin so they can pay for the repairs on the palace.

God how humiliating.

This isn't new. Have a look at their shop - https://www.royalcollectionshop.co.uk/foodhall/wine-and-spirits.html

There's a whole range of Buckingham Palace branded spirits, wine and related goods.

... and that's just the wine and spirits section. You could totally deck your entire house out with royal branded crap if you so desired.

...but Her Majesty also uses the spirit for other purposes, such as cleaning her royal jewels.

Her Mother, Elizabeth the Queen Mother was a great one for gin, also Scotch, fast cars and Gay Boys in uniform.

She had just enough vices to make it to 104 in good health and good humour. Mark Twain would be proud of her.

Are you kidding?  Good Queen Bess would have worked every single angle available for the ducats and power.  She pretended she was a virgin into her old age to keep grips on various dynastic offers for decades.  Slinging a gin on the side for cash and bonus Toasts to Her Majesty's Health in national feelings would be a f*cking slam-dunk.  If that sh*t was availble to the Crown in 1598 she would have been on it like white on rice.

I don't think so.  "The divinity that doth hedge a king" was important to her.  I don't think she would have sold her name - heaven knows, she would have had the opportunity.

Please, she would totally have sold Branded Merchandise if that had been a Thing at the time.  She sold her own brand 24/7, to the point she wasn't really herself, but The Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II does enjoy drinking gin in cocktails.

The bottle design is pretty and well-executed. Harmonious color choices. Likely to be actually drinkable and taste good. Better done than products sold by a certain "businessman" and "leader" of the United States.
