If only there were successfully-run programs in other countries where people just get health care simply for being residents of the country they're in that we could copy. Obviously none exist so we just have to keep piecemealing and patching our health insurance system until a miracle occurs and we achieve something no one can fully explain that would work here.

Nobody goes to the hospitals anymore. They're too crowded.

This triggers the Rapethuglicans because Obama has signed countless life-long leases at $0.00/month, shrunk himself, and cloned himself in order to occupy their empty skulls.

Stick your BSAB crap up your ass. They got a watered down improvement through and that in the face of astonishing vicious objection. But it was a large improvement, as evidenced by the constant attempts to water down or remove it from those who just want everyone to shut up and die.

So, they lost their health insurance because they no longer have a job. They might get the job back but the insurance will go up. Obamacare, that turned all healthcare costs over to private insurance, was a supremely bad idea.

Many people think that private insurance is there to help. It is not. It is there to make money. It is a regulated industry, but a poorly regulated one because its gross is determined by a percentage of the money that it pays out. You are probably too young to remember when mandatory automobile insurance went into effect. In two years, the cost of repairing your car (whether it had been in an accident or not) just about tripled. The same thing happened with healthcare. The profits of the insurance companies are not that important except to them, but they can determine what you pay.

I could say much more about private insurance being philosophically bad and so forth, but you might be able to figure it out for yourself.

Except that Obama's big BS claim was that with EVERYONE on it, it would make insurance more affordable than before. Which is why the came up with COVERAGE MANDATE that required all Americans spend their after-tax dollars on purchasing Health Insurance at the Insurance market in their State, which rightly got stricken down as unconstitutional

So explain how with every single employer putting their FT staff on Obamacare, it was 3x more expensive across the board

Obama was more than happy to ass-fark the American Public with a shiat-headed solution because he wanted a "legacy"

There are pets of the Affordable Care Act that aren't great. Employer-based insurance, for one. But if they weren't so busy sitting on their asses and doing nothing about it, Congress could have gone back and addressed the parts that needed to be fixed.

The individual mandate isn't the problem with the ACA.

But you can't see beyond the premium.

This! My wife and I had a marketplace policy last year (by the way: if the "marketplace" has one and only one available policy, "marketplace" may not be the best term for it). It cost $225 a month. Not a very good policy but it was our only choice.

Until this year, when I had to switch to Medicare. And I mean I HAD to switch. I was taken off the marketplace policy automatically and issued a Medicare card on the specified date.

Medicare costs me $144 a month.  But with me no longer on the marketplace policy, the monthly premium for just my wife changed to (drum roll):

$360.

Yep. Our monthly insurance premium more than doubled, from $225 to $504.

Thanks Obama!

Look at the upside.

Because you are now on Medicare, it'll be harder to find a doctor that will accept you as a patient.

Yeah, but Obamacare was a "step in the right direction" therefore everyone who has a problem with it can be safely ignored. Because the comfort of the insurance companies is more important than whether or not you should have to choose between health insurance or groceries for the month.

My daughter took herself off my subsidized health insurance in March when she got her own healthcare plan which cancelled my health care as well.  The only time you can sign up at shiattyhealthcare.gov is in December.  Hopefully I don't need it as I've already had to cancel procedures, I'll get some in 6 months I guess.  Healthcare for all can't come soon enough!  I imagine many many others are in the same spot, fully employed with no insurance.  The lack of GAF in government for us worker bees that just want to stay healthy is disheartening.

No, no subby, this system is brilliant:

• Tie health insurance to a job. If you get too sick to work you and get fired, you lose your health insurance and the insurance company doesn't have to pay! It's brilliant!

• What about COBRA - it's fantastically expensive and you'll be even less likely to afford it without income and again you're likely to cancel it and lose insurance when you choose between eating and insurance. Again, brilliantly profitable.

• With a system that automatically sheds the insureds during a global pandemic, it shows that it works perfectly to maintain system profitability, and protects the infrastructure of the health care system. Again, totally brilliant.

You're just looking at this through the wrong lens subby. If you look at it through the lens of human suffering, it looks like a diabolical monstrosity. If you however look at it through the lens it was meant to be viewed through, that of company profitability, it's diabolically BRILLIANT.

Get with the program.

The mandate is required to cover pre-existing conditions.  Without it you could just wait til you needed care, signed up, got the care, then dropped the insurance. Insurance would go bankrupt.  That's why Tump's claim to be able to cover pre-existing conditions without the mandate is bullshiat. Not possible.

Republicans will insist it was a step in the wrong direction, and only support extremely extenseive healthcare tied to your job.
Non-Republicans know it was a step in the right direction, but also have a problem with it, and want to make it better.
The nonsense you said doesn't make much sense.
