davidphogan: Steve Taker better be on there.

Oh, good.

Tasker was amazing.  Maybe even more than that - it's hard to describe how he could turn a game as a special-teams gunner.... But, even if you're the best ST gunner who ever lived by a wide margin I'm still not sure that qualifies for the NFL HoF as currently constructed.

Generously, Steve Tasker played something like 7 live ball plays per game (excluding fair catches and kneel-down touchbacks, as well as spot duty as a WR) and once every maybe 4 games or so he would do something that would make you say "Wow!" and then maybe once a year he would generate some completely insane play that had you questioning your reality.  He was an incredible player but also an incredibly niche player and as much as I loved watching him (Bills fan here) I just can't really justify putting him in the 7 HoF inductees each year when the backlog has gotten so ridiculous.

If the NFL ever decides to expand the HoF to better represent a league with 32 teams instead of, like, 12, then yeah, Steve Tasker should absolutely be in there.

Cliff Branch AND Roger Craig are not in the NFL HoF? Wow. Those two should easily get the honor. Major snubs there.

Did they respect Ken Riley? (not reading the link)

Lots of modern era WR on the list. The WR position has been devalued because of the over-valuation of the QB position.  But the truth is... a good WR can make a middling QB look amazing, and vice versa.

McNabb will never be in the Hall. He didn't have the clutch factor that a QB needs. He is outshined by many of his contemporaries. His only real positive was his scrambling and his low INT rate.

Better answer for the Eagles is Jason Peters. He will be in the hall the first year he's eligible.

Speaking of Edelman, he's taking quarantine well.

Oh man, Randy Gradishar was fun to watch growing up. I remember once a group of Denver Broncos (including Gradishar and Rick Upchurch) visited my high school and played a basketball game against some local jocks.  It's hard to imagine a group of NFL players doing the same these days...but maybe they do.

/Upchurch brought the house down with some monster dunks.

For Washington, I'd have said Clark over Theismann..

Possibly Sean Taylor if he hadn't been murdered in his prime..

Earl Green: Clay Matthews is the correct choice for the Cleveland Browns.

He will get there soon.   Dick Schafrath is deserving as well and will probably never get there.

Chicago Bears - Steve McMichael (Mongo), DT

He won't be voted to the HOF while he is alive. The year after he dies, they will probably vote him in. It isn't because of his numbers, it is simply because they are afraid of what he will say in his induction speech. This is a man that on one of the Sunday night Bears wrap up shows back in the day, explained to his cohost that he found a streak of red in the toilet paper while wiping after he had used the bathroom. Then went on to explain that there was no need for worry, that after further inspection, he also found his wife's broken fingernail with the red nail polish. How are you going to have this man say anything publicly?

Texans Pick: Since they do not have a player who is eligible, lets go ahead and pick the 2nd best player in team history  (likely 3rd best now with Watson around).

If Tiki stayed on for another year and got the ring (assuming they win with him of course) and/or didn't talk trash on the way out, he would be in already.

Maybe splitting hairs on Seymour, and maybe he's not eligible yet, but Vince Wilfork was the best player on the Patriots for a few years of his career*.  Quietly dominated double and triple teams to anchor the middle on defenses that were weak in the secondary because Bill didn't realize that shutdown corner is a critical position skill that you have to pay for.
/Yes, we know who the quarterback was.

Is there a particular reason all the teams are alphabetized by city name... except Pittsburgh?  Thought for a few seconds they weren't listed at all until I searched for it.

I scrolled through on my way just to see who would 0be on the list for the Vikings. I was thinking "Oh they will just throw AP on there its pretty low hanging fruit" I was shocked to see Marshall on there! For the life of me I thought he had already been inducted. Then they hit on Foreman and again I thought "How in the hell is Chuck Foreman not in the Hall already?!" Not cool HOF not cool.

Dude once got ejected from the farking media booth at Wrigley Field when he called out umpire Angel Hernandez for a bad call at home plate when he was up there to sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

McNabb has the best completion percentage to the turf five feet in front of his receivers.  However A A Ron is trying to creep up there the last couple of years.

Absolutely right on LeRoy Butler. Only member of the All 90s team not in. Most of his numbers are as good or better than Steve Atwater's are. Butler should have been in years ago.

Most of those on the list won't make the HoF... not that many aren't deserving. It's just what it is.

Holy shiat. My idiot morning brain translated Herman Moore into Warren Moon.

I am bad and feel bad.

I used to love how the NFL films guy would have a shot of Len Dawson launching a bomb, then he'd zoom in tight on the ball for several seconds, then wide out as Otis Taylor caught it in stride.
