Someone from Fark signed me up for the mailing list. I can tell, because the name they used was Gene Masseth.
I ain't mad because they are hysterical. Some of them are so farking desperate.
Nice to see his supporters are pissed off about them.
They also seem to have tapered off since Tulsa.

A lot of complaining that the recipients are being treated like idiots. You're conservatives. News flash: YOU ARE IDIOTS. Every idea, every policy, every racist screed has shown it.

I guess the snowflakes are upset at someone being mean to them. We should probably get them a safe space.

I'm a mailman, and deliver a ton of conservative fundraising material (and it's all non-profit postage so the post office makes no money off it, probably even losing money), and this rhetoric is pretty standard. If anything, they are usually even far worse.

Wait wait wait. Stop, back up a bit there. How is a political fundraising organization allowed to send mail under non-profit postage? Unless I'm misreading this that is one hundred percent illegal. https://pe.usps.com/text/pub417/pub417_ch2_002.htm#ep999053

Usually there are messages on the outside to get people worked up and open the letter. I've read through a few that were to addresses/people that didn't exist, and would end up in the destroy pile. Disclaimer: non-profit and standard postage gets destroyed if it can't be delivered. First class mail and packages get forwarded or returned to sender.

You gotta put a stamp on to return it, so you're getting a cut from the nutbag conservatives.

My Mom passed away over a year ago, and she still gets crap from Judicial Watch. I finally sent them a note today and told them to knock it off.

Yeah, that's gonna happen.

I bought a trump ornament Christmas 2018 when I thought this would be the time, for sure, he was going to go down. I didn't want to give a supporter the money, (and they were extorting the cost significantly.) So I bought it from the campaign direct. It felt wrong to support Trump with money, but I thought it was important to get the memento to remind me of Republican evil forever.

Holy shiat, the emails I got. They are so desperate. And the letters. I've taken a lesson from the kpop people, and when they ask you to mail back the envelopes I just send them back blank or with a letter telling them they suck to waste their time. Everyone should sign up for trumps email and mail list, and if we all mail the letters back they will have to spend a huge amount of time trying to figure out what's real and what isn't lol.

Colonel: Oh, er... seven thousand infantry, six hundred artillery, and er, two divisions of paratroops.

Dino: Be a shame if someone was to set fire to them.
Colonel: Set fire to them?
Luigi: Fires happen, Colonel.
Dino: Things burn.
Colonel: Look, what is all this about?
Dino: My brother and I have got a little proposition for you Colonel.
Luigi: Could save you a lot of bother.
Dino: I mean you're doing all right here aren't you, Colonel?
Luigi: Well suppose some of your tanks was to get broken and troops started getting lost, er, fights started breaking out during general inspection, like.
Dino: It wouldn't be good for business would it, Colonel?
Colonel: Are you threatening me?
Dino: Oh, no, no, no.
Luigi: Whatever made you think that, Colonel?
Dino: The Colonel doesn't think we're nice people, Luigi.

It's quite obvious it doesn't fall under any of them, if you ask me.

Just as it was quite obvious that all of those teabagger "nonprofits" were not nonprofits.

And as it's quite obvious that a lot of evangelical "Christian" "churches" are nothing but a grift run by their millionaire "pastors."

And as in those cases, the screeching outrage from the reich wing if anything were to be done about it means that conservatives will be allowed to continue openly violating the law for the foreseeable future.

I have to ask (since I haven't seen a thread about it here yet), but I had heard that the new PMG has demanded that to save money that Post Offices now have to 'slow walk' mail deliveries to cut down on overtime?  The story I read stated that carriers are being told if they can't deliver everything in their normal day, that they are to bring said mail back and try to deliver it a following day, and that this is now causing a backlog and late first class mail.

I ask only due to your statement, and also due to the fact that mail that normally gets delivered within a few days (like my meds) now are taking close to 2 weeks to be delivered.

Weird you mention that. I have Informed Delivery, where I get a digest in my email every morning of all the mail coming to my home that day, and I also had a package due to be delivered today; nothing at all got delivered, to me or to any of my neighbors today. My tracking history for the package said "unable to reach delivery location" and none of the letters due to arrive did. I wonder if that's what has been going on here because my neighbor commented that she's been noticing quite a few days lately where mail just doesn't come.

Yeah, shiat is crazy. It's really complicated like most jobs, and I only really can speak for my craft as a city carrier. There seems to be a push for everyone to do things in a specific amount of time, and anything that can't get sorted or delivered in that time will be held for the next day to avoid any overtime whatsoever. All stations are a little different, but one constant I've seen at the post office is that we're always understaffed. It's a really tough job, and most people quit within a few weeks. This means a lot of overtime to compensate, and if we can't use OT then we're going to have an increasingly large pile of stuff to catch up on.

Then there are the rumors that this is all a plot to make mail service so poor that voting by mail seems like a bad idea...

There are posts today on the usps subreddit about routes not getting any mail to deliver because the plants couldn't finish processing their mail in the new time limits. Packages and priority mail is still getting priority treatment I hear, but regular first class mail is going to be getting delayed going forward.
