Never ordered from them. I think they have a presence in Canada?...but never ordered from them.

I like Pizzaville, so far as chain store pizza goes. They have stone baked pizzas. Pizza Pizza is so f*cking generic. Pizza Nova wins a lot of awards, but I never liked them for some reason. Then there's the little pizza shops around the neighbourhood, but they all seem to be owned by Indian or Pakistani-Canadians, so I don't think their product has a lot of "tradition" in their recipes  ;)

They could save some money and increase profits if they reduced the amount of high fructose corn syrup they used. It might even make the pizza taste better.

I dated a woman who told me Papa John's was her favorite pizza.  I was like, "Oh, so your favorite fast food pizza?"  She said no.  It was her favorite pizza.  There was no greater pizza in her mind.  We stayed together for another 4 months, but really, the relationship ended that day.  Once respect is gone, the relationship is over.

Tastier than most of the other laxatives on the market, though.

If they changed it to "Papa Shaq's" and put Shaq on the box with a fake mustache and giant Italian chef hat I would have to buy it out of principle.

Most generic frozen pizzas are better than Papa John's. There is no reason I would ever order from there unless I had to feed a sh*tload of kids I didn't particularly care for, and Papa's was selling pizzas for 5 bucks a piece.

But, I swear, they were actually pretty good at one time. I'm going back to 1997 and the age of the VCR. Picking up a Blockbuster movie and Papa John's was actually a damn good date night.

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed sex a lot more back then, too. So maybe it was that and not the pizza. Anyway, there's no going back.

100% true on both counts. Lack of understanding of what is real pizza AND lack of respect leads nowhere.

Mom loved Papa Johns, not sure why.  Every sunday when they got home from church I got sent to buy a pizza and, I don't remember, garlic sticks  The pizza was fine, the time spent with a rapidly mentally decaying mom was priceless.

This is....actually a good idea.

Shaq is so goofy he is a natural pitchman.

Papa John's can greatly improve their pizza by doing one thing: using naturally "sweet" tomatoes (if that's a thing) in their sauce instead of the red-colored corn syrup that passes for the sauce they use now.

I still won't touch their pizza, though.

I really don't get the hate in this thread... I've had pizza from all over the US and more than a dozen international places.

Papa John's, at least the ones I've been to, are great pizzas for a reasonable price.

I've been to every no name, mom and pop pizza shop in 10 miles (mostly. They open new ones and shut down old ones enough that I sometimes can't keep up)... There is a reason the national chains are successful.

Papa John's isn't the greatest pizza in the world, but it isn't anywhere near bad.

Just like Starbucks coffee is all bad, every new Star Wars movie is the worst, and *insert hamburger place here* is an abomination compared to my local burger joint, people love to bash on popular things.

/Stopped eating Papa Johns after Papa complained about raising the price 25 cents to cover health care for his employees
//Pizza was fine.
