Looks like a German newspaper after Stalingrad.

Again, I'll believe it when I see it.  You have to have enough people actually go out to vote.  I.e, being against Trump is way different than voting blue.  It most likely means either staying home or writing in "my dog" for most Texans who believe liberals are evil.  Remember when your parents voted for JFK, Texas??

The reported stat on cases and deaths in TX show a consistent pattern. The numbers drop on Sat/Sun and bounce up big on Mon/Tues. It's delays in reporting. Expect some scary numbers late today and tomorrow.

How many guys did they lose at Stalingrad?

I admit I was going to make a joke here but never mind that is just horrendous.

It's not just TX, this has been a consistent pattern all along.  Two probable causes:

-People who process the necessary paperwork don't always work weekends.

-Death rates are a bit higher on weekends because of stuff related to shift changes at hospitals.

Takes a few days for medical examiner and board of health to certify death certificates.

Friend in Orlando said they are the only the only family in their development wearing masks consistently. They took their dogs to the vet recently and got a full contact tracing form to fill out before they could take their dogs in for shots. She was shocked how serious they take it yet grocery stores are just letting anyone walk in without a mask.

I have MD friends in houston. From what little I hear right now, it's a hellscape.

AND IT'S GOING TO GET WORSE.  In a lot of places.

Thanks, MAGAts.

When can we start arresting and holding criminally and financially liable plague rats and deniers who happen to have a soapbox? Like, say dimwitted asshole gameshow hosts, or presidents who forward their lethal, confidently incorrect ignorance?

Those aren't all deaths.  Casualties figures include wounded but it's still mind-blowing.

And although they "won" the battle, the Russians had about 1.1 million casualties.

Trump and McEnany won't be able to hide the proliferation of real estate signs in front of deceased neighbors' homes.

Bear in mind that the page size of the Houston chronicle is smaller than a normal newspaper. More of a paperback, really.

Vets are doctors.  Grocery store employees typically are not.

For real estate developers, that's a plus.   The idea is to engineer more rich people dying in the better neighbor hoods, but scaping a poor neighborhood block to build high rent, low quality tenements has some merit too.

Trump lose Texas? LOL

Trump will win Texas for one reason. He has a (R) next to his name.

Texans will vote for a Republican, no matter what. Doesn't matter that the petroleum industry is being decimated, and Houstonians are dropping dead from COVID. As long as Trump has that (R), he'll get their electoral votes.

When Republicans are saying that Democrats are registering dead people to vote, you know then that that's exactly what Repugs are doing.

I have a 5-figure bet with proceeds going to charity that Cruz loses re-election in 2024.

Thanks to Trump, we might get this asshole Cornyn out too, and completely change the political landscape with the electoral college aka farking Repubs. Nice.

Also if ya dinnah nah, the TX Supreme Court serves staggered 6-year terms, meaning 3 are up every two years. Texas could be transformed in a short amount of time.

Well I mean you obviously know. And if you can really predict the future you should probably go to Vegas. Is it okay if I vote anyway?

And judging from the amount of Florida, Texas, and Arizona cars out there, we're completely screwed. I traveled out of necessity and hated having to. Yet so many people are out there like it's summer as usual.

They're spreading their plague all over, maybe even on purpose. Country is finished.

Ugh... I hadn't even given a thought about that.

Sympathy cards are the next TP shortage.  Even to me, that is too dark to make a joke about.

Trump loses Texas the second high school football is officially cancelled and the DNC/Lincoln project runs an ad saying:

"We could have had football if a a competent leader got this under control in the spring. Vote Biden for a return to leadership"

I don't want to be "that guy," but I'm pretty sure this is a special issue/compendium of obits going back a few months.  It's not the daily obit section, though no doubt that section is going to multiple pages on a daily basis soon as well, as it did in Italy.

Texas has voted for the GOP presidential candidate since 1980. Why would 2020 be any different?

The German population in 1940 was ~71,000,000.
So, just to attempt to take that particular pile of rubble cost Germany .01% of its entire population getting killed, wounded, or captured. All for one man's vanity.
