Not only that, but....I read the comments.

You'd think The Hill would be Pro-Trump but I was pleasantly surprised.

We have all heard by now that President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho is better than President Donald John Trump. I was thinking that the many advantages Camacho has have been underestimated.

Camacho: Five time Ultimate Smackdown champion
Trump: A couple of appearances on WWE

Camacho: Porn superstar
Trump: Appeared in a Playboy video

Camacho: Made a gormless looking man Secretary of Education
Trump: Gave the job to Cruella deVoucher

Camacho: Kept his promises to have the economy fixed and the Dust Bowl ended in one week
Trump: 20,000+ lies and counting

Camacho: Smartest man in the world when elected
Trump: Only thinks he's the smartest man in the world

Camacho: Treats everyone equally
Trump: Racism Watchdog says WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF OF WOOF WOOF

Camacho: Fired an assault rifle in front of Congress
Trump: Machine-gunned hamberder farts in his bunker

Camacho: Played in Idiocracy by Terry Crews
Trump: Played like a cheap fiddle by Kim Jong Un

Camacho: Immediately hired the smartest man in the world
Trump: Decided to put the one black guy in charge of the department with 'urban' in its name

Camacho: Pardoned Not Sure for doing a kick-ass job
Trump: Granted clemency to Roger Stone

Camacho: Botched pandemic responses: 0
Trump: Fiddles while the morgues overflow

Camacho: His supporters drink Brawndo
Trump: His supporters drink bleach

Gordon Bennett: Camacho: Played in Idiocracy by Terry Crews

Can Terry Crews pull off playing Camacho for 4 years? If so, get his ass on the ballot!

There are only two basic successful POTUS campaign messages :

1) You never had it so good.

2) Time for a change.

The phrase "Learn to live with it" does not appear in the above options.

How the hell will Trump understand that? There wasn't a single picture, drawing, or 'pop-up book' mechanic anywhere in this article.

Know your audience, Hill.

Sometimes, a high competent individual will strive even more for fear of coming up short and possibly a fear of criticism.  With that you get an excellent one who is still improving.

This is not the case here.

It is still possible for America for have a leader who is the best of the best and  yet getting better.

But not today.

They'll tape the article to Ivanka's boobs.  He might not understand but he'll be focused.

Here's what I don't understand. If, as these articles keep telling me, his campaign is in disarray and his support is collapsing, why is his Approval number stubbornly stuck at 40%?

That's his support floor. With the built in EC bonus the repugs get, he'll likely score in the vicinity of 190 under literally any set of circumstances. A campaign's job is to raise those numbers and, well, it just isn't happening.

Anyone who supports him now does so despite what happens within his campaign.

VOTE ANYWAY!

You will look back on November 3rd 2020 as that one brief moment on that one fateful night when YOU actually had the power to do something about the Hell-On-Earth you have been subjected to for years (or perhaps your entire life).

Where you took part in that one giant collective boot kicked up Trump's ass. Where you had a chance to send the GOP straight BACK to Hell.

Are you just going to sit on your ass and let that once in a lifetime opportunity slip by?

Because that 40% aren't paying attention to reality.

They're either not watching the news, or they're only consuming information from the right-wing media bubble. . .stuff that presents Trump as a great and bold hero and Biden as senile and corrupt.

They parrot memes about how COVID-19 is harmless, about how Mueller is incompetent, about how the Russian corruption was a "hoax" and generally are detached from actual reality.

It's a cult of personality not beholden unto facts.

That's how.

Don't make too much of this. It is summer and Trump is in reruns going after Hillary and Obama.  Wait until the new fall season. I hear they'll have a great Antifa storyline plus a medical procedural about a New York real estate tycoon who investigates WHO secret cults.

FTA: "many Americans over 65 now ... believe [Trump's] administration has not prioritized public health over reopening the economy."

Well, based on his - and his administration's - own statements, that would be a reasonable conclusion.

FTFA: Asked by Sean Hannity for his second-term agenda, Trump replied, "Well, one of the things that will be great - you know, the word experience is still good. I always say talent is more important than experience. But the word experience is a very important word.

Sounds like his campaign slogan will be "Please give me a 2nd chance, i figured out where the bunker was"

Concerns over turnout factored into canceling a rally in New Hampshire

Trump tried to blame the cancellation on the weather, but I spent Saturday in Portsmouth, NH, the day and site of the rally.  There were a few sprinkles of rain in the morning but by the afternoon it was mostly sunny.  Low turnout was almost certainly the reason.

That's a really shiatty argument to make when the guy you're running against has 45+ years total government service, including twice as much executive-level experience as you have... and on top of that, demonstrated competence during those 8 years.

Thanks for all the replies explaining why Trump's support hasn't gone below 40%. I understand all that. But given that, why do we keep seeing stories about how his support is crumbling and his polls are declining?

Both of these things cannot simultaneously be true; that's my point.

I mean, all he said was that "experience" is an important word. I don't know if that qualifies as an argument.

As we had seen in Wisconsin, people are going to show up to vote even if the GOP is hurling plague rats and ebola monkeys at the voters waiting in line outside. Trump HAS to go!

I would vote for a literal pile of cowshiat rather than TP.

At least cowshiat is a useful fertilizer (AFAIK).
