Well, he'll be the first Dallas QB who is under the franchise tag. "Play", not so much.

Incredible trivia. Did you also know that he will be the ONLY Dallas quarterback in HISTORY that was born in the 1990's? Unprecedented. This will never be accomplished again. He will hold that record forever.

See!? Now this is useful information! It's true that the situation is not ideal, but the Cowboys have got some really high-dollar dudes on the team already. I feel like this is just them trying to move money around & fiddle with the cap & try to keep everyone happy. I think we were on our way to a deal when the Mahomes Mega-deal came down & changed the game for everyone.

Because the NFL plays this stupid little game called "OMG highest paid [position] in NFL history!" And it's not a real honor & it has nothing to do with performance or accomplishments. It's just about who's up next. Their agents go in there & say they want what Russell has or what Aaron has or whoever was last to sign their deal. Well we can't DO THAT with the Mahomes deal because NOBODY can sit there & go, "Yeah, I'm next, give me what Mahomes got +$1." I think the Cowboys were expecting to get their deal done before the Chiefs & not have to worry about it. But now the Chiefs done blown the market to bits & now we don't know what's going on any more.

Yeah. That's what I'm gonna do. Blame the Hunts. Feels good.

*shrug* I have always been a Dak admirer  (though not a Cowboys fan, sorry) and think he will end up fine in the long run, along with a pretty good chunk of change this year

I think you're right.

And I'm a Mahomes admirer & not a Chiefs fan. So I get it. I mean, I love Dak, too. You can love more than one QB at a time!

A quarterback playing under the franchise tag always works out for the team. Just ask Washington TBAs QB Kirk Cousins.

To be fair to Cousins, its not his fault the Washington Whatevers are run (and owned) by morons. He simply cashed in at the right time...twice.

There's no law against being QB-slutty.
