This. This bully keeps winning. The fact that he's reached this station in life so far indicates, at the very least, that he is beyond lucky and that his connections have kept him rich and powerful despite how big of an asshole he is. Why should we expect he'll go down, ever?

His toadies are powerful people. I see two alternatives: a) they sell him out when his assholeness threatens them (and I'm not talking the MAGA cultists), or b) he dies of cancer, a massive coronary, or (hopefully) on his belly with a ventilator shoved down his throat.

Because this is lawyer-speak for, "We're hoping that the President or Barr will just give us a blanket pardon before we have to go to court. Come on Billy, hook a brother up..."

Cohen's attorney writing an op-ed about how how much dirt his client has on Trump and how legally farked Trump is because of the new SCOTUS rulings just days after Trump commutes Stone's sentence...

Yeah, why would he do that?

There's nothing in the article that hints at more crimes committed. It's the lawyer explaining the two pieces of information that has already been publicly disclosed. Meh. I'll believe it when I see it.

And even if he does have anymore information, there's nothing the state government can do while Trump is in office anyway. They'd have to wait until he's out of office anyway. It's not like NY State Police are going to roll up to the White House and perp walk Trump out of there. Everything is academic until Trump leaves office.

Yep.

This article reads as a "My client can fark you so you better consider a pardon" but having said that, most of the people that get investigated and tried for dirty deeds in an administration happen months and years after that administration has been kicked to the curb. It is the only way a DA can straight face claim the charges are not fabricated just to politically undermine the current admin.

You know, I'm really tired of all these "Trump is dirty and criminal and I know and have evidence of it because I participated and benefited from it for years before he fired me!" people. Cohen, Bolton, etc etc.

If any of these people had been at all morally or ethically troubled by any of that they could have stopped participating at any time and blown the whistle then. Cohen worked as his personal lawyer for years, suddenly NOW it's "Oh, he's totally dirty!" Yeah well you are too so GFY. Turn over what you have if it's real but you have no right to cash in.

Trump is just one example of this problem in America.  Rich people do not face consequences for their actions.  In the last 40 years, you can count on both hands the times a rich and powerful person went to prison.

Did you even read the article ?

Because it starts by stating a POTUS is not immune from state criminal prosecutions even while in office

and then the attorney states he was present for interviews in 2019 that he cannot discuss but then reminds the readers of all the hard evidence presented under oath already by Cohen

Cohen has already gone to prison, he's been sent back and he doesn't have that much more time to serve. No way be gets pardoned and if he already spilled the beans in 2019 no good for Trump

And Vance was unable to move forward until they got the green light on the documents to prove the crimes. Sure we all wish this happened 2 years ago but Trump has effectively stalled everyone he could. Now that Vance can get the documents I would imagine tho ya will move more quickly

Holding a press conference to announce he's been indicted by a Grand Jury on charges of felony fraud and tax evasion and that there's now an arrest warrant for him outstanding in the State of New York though would be one HELL of an October surprise.

Yeah, practically speaking they wouldn't be able to physically arrest him until he was out of office, but imagine the trolling factor on news and social media of describing him as "Fugitive Donald Trump" and talking about how many days he's been on the run from the police in New York etc.

They couldn't arrest him, but they REALLY could get under his skin, and if timed right, the announcement could be one heck of a bombshell.

He does as little as possible already. Maybe being in prison would force him to have some discipline and not spend all day rage-tweeting and golfing.

He did if you read TFA.  Cohen had a long interview with Vance's Prosecutors that Davis was present at and knows what was said.   This is Davis pressuring Vance not to "go dark" with this.   Remember, we probably wouldn't even be IN this Mess if Vance hadn't taken a bribe to Let Jr. And Ivanka skate on a Real Estate fruad case he had them dead to rights on involving Trump Towers Soho

Why do you assume he hasn't?

Actually it would be his client doing the talking, not the lawyer.

But regardless, I suspect the Manhattan DA has enough information that he can secure indictments and have Trump arrested the first time he steps foot in NY post-Presidency.

Here's what's gonna happen: Joe Biden will win and instead of prosecuting anyone in the Trump admin they'll decide against prosecutions in order to "heal the country". Then in 10 years Trump will go dance on Ellen and liberals will help him launder his image because he promised to vote against Don Jr.
