From what Hafner has been told by police, the crooks sold the giraffe, known as Peaches, to an unsuspecting buyer in south county.

Weird. I want to know who bought it and why.
Was someone just browsing craigslist one day and saw it listed and thought "Oh I gotta have that!" ?

I'm glad they found it. No one should lose their 13 foot metal giraffe.

Headline is a stretch.
But so are giraffes.

Seems an odd thing to steal, an odder thing to fence and an even more odd thing to buy off the back of a truck in an empty parking lot.

With the giraffe Photoshop, we have a rare giraffe trifecta in play:

Someone recognized it being stolen, bought it from the thieves and gave it back to the brewery.  I go to this place all the time.  Nicest people ever and they have been having a lot of fun with this.

Um. I might. And worry how to explain to my spouse later.

The saga of Peaches has been a nice distraction from the idiotic shootings in North City/County...

One of my customers had a T-Rex sculpture in their front yard. They wisely chained it to the ground to prevent theft and to keep it from eating small children walking by.
