Its not the rehash of a retelling of a reboot we need, its the rehash of a retelling of a reboot anyone that bored enough to subscribe deserves.

Gotham Central was one of the best series DC ever published. I'm okay with this.

Is this series going to finally tell us what happened to Bruce Wayne's parents? Did they ditch him and run off, what?

There's something a bit interesting that they are tying it into Matt Reeves The Batman.

The book was great as it dealt with normal crime in Gotham, but the "super freaks" from a street level.

I thought his parents became the Joker and Harley Quinn.

Even better

.  The entire series is just a single slow motion shot of Martha Wayne's pearls falling to the ground in Crime Alley.  It takes 10 episodes but it is RIVETING I tell you.

Pish. Clearly the pearls were incorrectly riveted.

Can we get something new that isn't Batman related? Doesn't DC have the largest comics backlog in the world, why do they have such a hard time browsing past the letter B?

I didn't watch it but wasn't the TV show Gotham set in the world of the Gotham police department?

Gotham was horrible but new attempts at horrible shows sometime turn out great. See the original Maltese Falcon and compare to the Bogart version.

/No Adam West tho....

Better. Start with BB & a few eps in introduce BG. I like his story better than Boosters anyway. But they made a fun duo.

Still full-on wrecking Montoya's life out of his weird obsession and lack of understanding?  I can get behind that.

I always thought the Lego Batman movie missed the boat by not doing a version of that scene where the pearls were cubes (because you know Lego) instead of sperical

I remember enjoying it but I also remember that there were a ton of elements borrowed from Homicide Life on the Street. Then I started reading some of Greg Rucka's novels and one of them borrowed a bunch of characters from The Corner. And I realized that that guy just loves David Simon.

Soooo much THIS

I only skimmed TFA but I didn't see anything that explicitly said it was based on Gotham Central. I sure hope it is because GC was just about perfect.

Batman & Joker are some of my favorite characters in all of fiction. And the Gotham Central Joker arc is the best Joker has ever been done.

IMO these two panels are the epitome of Joker

A, figure out this HBO BS. B, bring back whoever made Batman: The Animated series and whoever made Batman: Beyond. Everyone wins.

While they are at it, let the people behind Justice League Unlimited: Animated run the DCEU.

buntz: I didn't watch it but wasn't the TV show Gotham set in the world of the Gotham police department?

Not really: the basic premise was this: what if the Batman villains existed before Batman?

It was kinda cool because they drew from all sorts of storylines and inspirations. A bit of Nolan, a chunk of Burton, a dash of Adam
West camp. Throw in The Court of Owls, No Mans Land a few nods to other comic storylines. Alfred being ex special forced bad ass. A really great kids playing Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, with a damn good version of Gordon, Harvey Bullock and sexiest version of Leslie Thompkins.

There was the best rendition of a live action Penguin, Riddler and other classics.

Then there was Jerome and Jeremiah.

Batman, being human, really doesn't have to have a big special effect budget.

All three of those shows were Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. Timm is currently doing animated DC movies (which are usually better than any of their live-action stuff anyway) and Dini I believe is currently a writer on Creepshow.

What I want to know is the story of what really  happened to Bruce's parents. I feel it has never been fully addressed in any event previous telling.

One of my favorite DC animated scenes is one where where Bats & GL (Hal) first meet. Of course they start talking shiat. Hal starts giving bats crap for "just being a guy in a costume". & then bats steals GL's Green Lantern ring.

Jesus Farking Christ, Warner Bros...! ENOUGH WITH THE BATMAN STUFF! GIVE IT A REST!

They have the entirety of DC's roster of heroes, and yet we just keep getting the Justice League members over and over, with Batman most of all. Far, far, faaaar more than anything else. Batman (and his villains), then Teen Titans, then Superman and the rest of the JLA.

Are people not sick of farking Batman yet? I mean, right now at this moment we have Batwoman, The Batman, Gotham Central, and Harley Quinn (series) either active or in development, and we just had Joker, Birds of Prey/Harley Quinn, Justice League, Gotham, and I don't know how many more. Bunches. There's NEVER a time when there aren't at least three Batman-related things on the table.

There's more goddamn Batman than Star Wars. And more directors and writers have gotten Batman wrong than those who have botched Star Wars at this point.
