Does anybody actually born in the United States actually care about soccer (real or fake)?  Sure, it's popular with immigrants of all sorts, but with the native born, not so much.

My cousin and his family are nuts for the new-ish team in Cincinnati.

I suppose you haven't noticed any of the soccer match day comment threads around here....

Can I get some variation of "Americans will fall in love with soccer in 'X' years?" I fear that troubled times are ahead, it would mean so much to me if I could pull that out of my back pocket like the Phial of Galadriel should I become weak and my morale were to falter. Please do this, it would cost so little to you yet provide me with endless joy.

A few years ago, a friend of mine and I created one on Facebook with intentionally vague updates, previews, and recaps of games that didn't exist, and announcements of merchandise sellouts.  Our most famous player was the Christiano Rinaldo statue, and a week later we sold him for over $2 million.

We actually did that so we get invited into a real amateur league (UPSL).  We're still salty after they lured away a local PDL (now USL2) team with stupid promises only to break them and fold the division halfway through the season.

Americans will be forced into falling in love with soccer once Coronavirus kills off two seasons of college football, at least one NFL season, and possibly MLB too.

More seriously, let us like what we like, I'm perfectly capable of being a fan of multiple sports without really denigrating the others. It's possible to enjoy Football, Hockey, Basketball, Baseball and Soccer. I know I do.

Pair this with AI generated club names (a few years back) and you might be on to something...

This guy's roots in America go way back, and he is passionate about 2 things: not littering and soccer.
