Pretty obvious pump and dump scheme by a bunch of teen 'influencers' on a bunch of social media addled teens that don't know squat about investing.

However, it does show the extreme volatility and lack of institutional controls that make investing in crypto a terrible idea for anyone that wants to be above the table.

To a point.  A single tic tok user couldn't do something like this to bitcoin or etherereum, their market cap is far to big for that.  But one person with a following can do that to a small coin.

It happens in stocks all the time too, from someone like Jordan Belfort pushing penny stocks to Steve Jobs or Elan Musk hyping their fanbase.  It's hardly limited to cryptos.
