He's going to have a serious mental breakdown when he loses the election.  He's just not capable of processing that level of rejection. November to January terrifies me, frankly.

So like every other day.

OdradekRex: He's going to have a serious mental breakdown when he loses the election.  He's just not capable of processing that level of rejection. November to January terrifies me, frankly.

I'm presuming that's where the adults in the room grow a spine and tell him to f*ck off while quacking in his direction if he tries to order anything monumentally destructive.

He'll waste all that time tweeting about how the election was rigged against him. Here's hoping someone finally tells him to STFU, when Trump no longer matters. The GOP has a habit of turning their backs on their losers

That's one thing they kind of do right.  Well, except for Palin.  They didn't turn their backs on her.

Because the fat, orange, delusional, vindictive psychopath has access to the football, I "curr." I don't want the sick fark to lob nukes at China, South Korea, or even the United States itself.

Outside of that? I hope he goes out of this world in such an ignominious fashion that it gets labelled forever with his name.

If he steps down. And I could see him trying to flee the country if so. The US is so used to peaceful transitions of power, but Trump wants to be immune from responsibility, which ends the moment his office does. Add in his trial balloons of staying longer than his standard term. And the GOP's reluctance to hold him to account. And possible consequences if/when they lose the Senate. I'm not sure the US is going to have a free or fair election, and if the result  does come in for the Democrats, I'm unconvinced that McConnell, Trump and others who have had their hand in some awful shiate with Russia and China, will go quietly, or at all.

Problem; there are no more adults in the room.  The only people left in Trump's orbit are his family and a bunch of worthless toadies like Barr and DeVos.  They'll encourage him to be as absolutely destructive as possible.

The only hope we have is that the military refuses to let him push the button and nuke Belgium/Sudan/New Zealand/Yellowstone National Park

Ya know, with the right planning, lots of money, why not have a long series of parties, events, speeches, dances, shin-digs, golfing stuff, from November to January for Trump*? It's obvious the rat misses that shiat, and why not cater to it totally? Set up a "Team Transition Room", meeting from 2:15pm-2:20pm or as needed, couple of TV/Video cameras, lights, stage and Presidential Swag, in another room. Another room on an endless loop, all appearances, speeches, talks, interviews done by Trump*, so he'll have that to watch. Fox TV throw him a "Transition Team Time" TV slot to bloviate on-from Mar a Hump-o. Have the Palm Beach Society Types get involved with this, they know what Trump* misses, and it's being "accepted" by them. Give him at least one Trophy for being Trump* or something "special".

"He would say, 'Why does everything always happen to me?'

It's because you're incompetent, Donnie. When you meet an asshole in the morning, he was just an asshole. But when you perceive that everyone and everything is against you, YOU'RE the asshole.

He's just the latest president to demonstrate greatness this way.  Who can forget the time that FDR responded to the attack on Pearl Harbor by sulking for a week and then whining that nobody could have predicted it, and that it's not his fault the Japanese are trying to make him look bad.  Or when JFK gave his famous speech in response to the Soviet launch of Sputnik where he said that there's nothing we can do, and that rocket science is hard, and the media is being unfair to him.  Or that time we thought the Soviets were putting missiles in Cuba so JFK called Khrushchev, who denied it, and we realized the whole thing was a deep state plot to make JFK look bad.

Trump has always exhibited a healthy ego and his self-victimization tendencies are not a new phenomenon, according to those who have known him over the years.

At some point in history, being skinny equaled sickly or unhealthy, while heavier people were considered 'healthy'. Do not confuse fat and bloated with 'healthy'.

The military high command has already come down pretty firmly on the side of the constitution. At noon on January 20th Trump is no longer POTUS ( assuming the elections are fair which is a big assumption imo) that is not up for debate, that is written into the constitution and neither Trump, the traitors in the senate or the judiciary can change that by legal means. If they attempt to use extralegal means the military will intervene to protect the republic. Same for if lame duck trump tried to fire the missiles, I think the military would place him in protective custody, or some SS agent rids us of him before that happens. The military is a big believer in contingency planning and I am sure in a dark corner somewhere there is a plan for this to happen.
I am not saying that a military intervention would be a good thing ( in fact it would be a vary bad thing) but if it saves the republic from the authoritarianism and power stealing of Trump and the GOP then so be it. The best bet for the GOP and trump would be to steal the elections, be as blatant as they want to be because that will be a harder thing for people to nail down or care about. The average joe will know there was an election and trump won, how those results came about will matter less to the masses that don't follow politics closely if at all. That will also spike the military angle since the republicans will claim it is just a coup.

So our future rests on the election in November and how secure it is. Given the lack of attention to security and the GOP pretty much giving the world free reign to muck about with it I have little hope for this nation to survive the next ten years or so without a big change.

I'm counting on the highly screened O-6 who carries the football. They are one of the very few people who is allowed to be armed in the presence of the president, and I expect them to take appropriate action if 45* decides to rage quit the entire planet.
