Trademarks are not like patents.
You can't keep a trademark unless you have an active trade.

Warriors is a boring, bland, and lazy name. I thought Redtails was a surprisingly strong option, with dual resonances of both the fliers and the bird, unique but not a cringey gimmick that would feel stale and anachronistic pretty much immediately-looking at you, Raptors and Mighty Ducks...

...or, he could just move the team to another city and start fresh. It would be nice if St. Louis got another team....

Bear in mind it's not for a lack of money.  Not too long ago, DC was the second most profitable football franchise behind Dallas, even though neither team had any success from the field.

Isn't Redtails more of a reference towards, you know, Alabama rather than Washington?

How about "Bullets"?
Fast, dangerous, hard hitting.

Washington Warlocks, since clearly their owner cut a deal with an otherworldly entity.

In the funny way that Wikipedia takes you all over the place, I learned that the Washington Wizards were the Baltimore Bullets who were named after the prior Baltimore Bullets (1944-1954) which were named after the Phoenix Shot Tower which was a shot tower, some of which are still in operation, like the one in Latvia under the rule of Baron Von Doom.

/I'm sure locals knew most of this, but the whole physics and how maximum size of the bullet is limited by the height of the tower was interesting to me
//I just assumed most shot was cast in moulds

St. Louis has had and lost two in my lifetime. Isn't that enough of a sign that maybe somebody else needs a chance?

Also, the fact that Dan Snyder may have to pay a little extra cash because someone saw a chance to make a buck is hilarious. Everyone who possibly can needs to nickel-and-dime him at every opportunity.

Did they go to war for Alabama? Is that their story? Bobby Kennedy was born in Massachusetts, to a Famous New England family. Still had a stadium named for him in DC, where the Redacteds played under his name for 27 years. It's almost as if they all had legacies that extended beyond their early formative years...

The Martians do not find your nicknames funny. Nor did they find the oxygen-infused blankets amusing when they came down with "small ox"

/probably obscure but I hope someone gets it

No he has to move the team to LA, they could have three teams share a stadium.

The previous teams were owned by the Bidwills and Georgia Frontiere/Stan Kroenke. I don't think the city was the problem.
